So much to be Thankful for... and a Cyber Monday Reminder...

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday...
Family...Good Food...Giving Thanks...

And now...Thanksgiving 2011 is just a memory.
A good memory, that is.

Emily prepared her first Thanksgiving Dinner for us in her apartment.
Turkey roasting in the oven...
stuffing in the slow cooker...
potatoes waiting to to peeled and cooked...

We had all our favorite side dishes...
stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy...
sweet potatoes, scalloped corn, and broccoli salad...

Carving the turkey is a position of honor and always goes to the oldest man in the household.
(that would be my hubby)

Amy traveled the farthest...
she was responsible for the beverages.
It was just our family of four, and I so enjoyed our time together.

And now we are all back in our own homes, packing away the pumpkin decor.
We are ready to face the reality of Monday morning at work,
rejuvenated after spending time with family.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
Take care,
~Natalie

Winterfest 2011 ~

Welcome to our Tins and Treasures booth at
Aberdeen's 33rd annual Winterfest.
(Hubby is adjusting something with our antique cash drawer)
The doors opened at 10 am...we finished setting up at 9:55...

The lights in the arena are turned low and artists are required to light their own booth.
It makes for a very festive atmosphere.

We are still using my Grandma Hilda's old ironing board to showcase
smaller items in the center of our booth.
(see grandma Hilda's picture at the bottom my blog)

Displaying my Infinity Scarves proves to be a bit of a challenge.
Especially when everything else is primitive rustic.
I have old wooden hangers to drape them, like so...

Adding to the festive atmosphere...Holiday Jazz...
Do you recognize the musicians?
Today, it was the Jazz Trio.

Between jazz sets, high school students entertain us with
familiar Christmas Carols.
I catch myself humming along!

Winterfest 2011
Talented artists...good food...great music...
There's something for everyone here!

I hope you can stop by and say Hello.

Take care,
~Natalie

Countdown to Winterfest ~ and a Sweet Surprise

I can't believe 10 days have passed since I last posted.
Thanks you to the friends that have asked about me...
...yes, I am fine.

I finished my assignment for the class I am taking...
and prepared this last batch of Tins...

These Santas are finished and ready for Winterfest.

I wish I had made more Snowmen...as we are under a
Winter Storm Watch!

This was our living room this week...
As I finished items, they were priced and packed in tubs and boxes...
ready for set up.

Hubby returned from his trip to visit our daughter with this in his hand.
Thank you Amy, for the sweet surprise.

You know how much I love a kitchen candle...

You made my day.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
Take care,
~Natalie

Monday Mania ~ Too Many Irons in the Fire...

That's what my mom would say...
"I have too many irons in the fire."
With Winterfest set-up just 10 days away, I need to put finishing touches on the many project that I have started. Can you see beyond the counter to the assortment of projects on my table...just waiting for embellishment.
Santa Pillows...Santa Dolls...
I don't think these Santas will reach the finish line.

These have been a popular item in my Etsy Shop.

Since I am sticking close to home,
I have been listing a couple of things each day in the On-line rummage sale.
Since some things move pretty fast, and I can't always trust my memory,
I attach a sticky note with the buyers name, the agreed price, and what time they will pick up.

These three juniors tops are still available.
If you are interested, contact me for details.
(I am willing to ship)

My Monday began with my vehicle not starting.
It needed a new battery.
Simply, an inconveneince for hubby and me.

Today is better already!
Have a terrific Tuesday.

Take care,
~Natalie

Happy Weekend...Where the Week Went...and an Online Rummage Sale

it's a brilliant idea!

I joined the group on facebook a few weeks ago, and I would stop in now and then to see how things operate...
you know...get to know the rules...

This week I thought I'd try listing a few things...
The above jacket and scarf sold within 15 minutes.
This jacket and scarf is still available...
(if you are interested, let me know and I will provide details)

There are currently 2,764 members that buy and sell.
There are photo albums for clothing, electronics, antiques & collectables, cars, baby clothing &equipment, accessories, pets, etc.
Yes, there is something for everyone!

In just four days, I have sold
4 winter coats
5 sweatshirt/fleece hoodies
4 pair of Abercrombie jeans

And the best part?
Finding someone that can wear our gently used items...
plus, I'm making room in our closets!

Besides the usual business at school,
I am sticking close to home, as we are preparing for our annual Winterfest...
just two weeks away.

My weekend is full of sewing, stuffing, crocheting and hot gluing...
...and of course, listening to college football!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
Take care,
~Natalie
