What'cha Working on Wednesday? Does anyone need Prom Attire??

Prom Season is just around the corner.
I have been storing some lovely dresses, shoes, and jewelry
here in our daughter's closet.

I recently took some photos and have listed them
on our local on-line Rummage Sale site.

If anyone would like information about sizes and prices,
please send me a message...

By the way,
I'd be willing to ship these items!

Take care,
~Natalie

p.s. for Amy and Emily,
Dad and I have such fond memories
of you both wearing these dresses for
your Prom and Homecoming Coronations.

Miss Me...But Let Me Go...

My always organized Mother keep all of her important papers in one place...
...in this vintage metal box.
It was in a small safe, with other important items, on the floor of her closet.

In this special (and always mysterious) box, I found birth certificates,
social security cards, my daddy's death certificate...
...and my mom's obituary that she had written for herself.

Tucked inside her Obituary, in her perfect penmanship,
was this poem. I want to share my find with our daughters,
Amy and Emily,
and with our extended family and my mom's friends.

Miss Me...But Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little but not too long,
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go.

Saying Goodbye...

This weekend we said goodbye to our mom and grammy.
Many of you know that she fell and broke her hip on January 28th.
She was transferred to Grand Forks, as she was a 'high-risk' patient.

After surgery to repair her hip, she suffered a stroke.
She was transferred back to the Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake,
where she died peacefully on the evening of February 7th.

Her funeral service was lovely.
We received so many messages of support and sympathy from our family and friends.
Thank you all so much.
We love you.

Take care,
~Natalie

Happy Birthday to our Amy

You are a special young woman and we are so proud of you.

I wish we could celebrate together, however we enjoyed our FaceTime...
and we have fond memories of celebrating with you in Minneapolis last year!

With many miles and 15 hours between us, your birthday is coming to a close in Japan.
I'm glad to know that you celebrated with good friends.
Best wishes to you.

Love,
Dad and Mom
