What'cha Workin' on Wednesday & Hubby's Birthday Report

I am spending my Wednesday night correcting papers.
It is not blog worthy, so I'm not even going to share a photo.

However, Hubby's Birthday Weekend was full of fun!
We drove into the cities.
I like to stay busy while riding in the car,
so I finished another Infinity Scarf.

Grandma came along
so she could spend time with Aunt Darlene.

She is such a special lady.
She was a sponsor at hubby's baptism...
and our first-born daughter's baptism.

Hubby found great accomodations.
We had a great view of the city and great coffee for breakfast.

So, you all know how we both love to shop.
There is a new Outlet Mall in Eagan.

It was completely crazy...
cars, people, police directing traffic.

Shoppers were swarming in.
I'm not exaggerating...here's the story.

(Amy, do you recognize where we are here?)

The prices were good and the customer service was great...
well worth our while.

Next on our Agenda
Matt's Bar and Grill for a Juicy Lucy.
It's good enough for us.

Do you see that puddle of cheese?

The Main Reason We Went to the Cities
A Twins Game.
Hubby doesn't mind driving in the city,
but we prefer to ride the light-rail downtown.

We met up with good friends at the game,
and our team won that evening!

Can you think of a better way to spend your birthday?

Take care,
~Natalie

TGIF & Where the Week Went...What's for Supper...and Episode 3 of Room by Room

It was "Back to School" for Students and Teachers.
...and let me tell you, morning seemed to come pretty early
after spending a fun weekend in the cities.

We enjoyed visiting with family, but had to get on the road...
so we gathered grandma's things for our 5 hour drive home.

My faithful friend, Callie, has been good support during my early morning workouts.
But by day three, she looked like she wanted to go back to bed.

What's for Supper?
Grandma's cherry tomato plant has been good to us.

Plus, our Basil plant is thriving.

So it was time to make my
Angel Hair Pasta with Tomatoes and Prosciutto.

If you would like the recipe,

And finally,
Room by Room, Episode 3
Our custodial staff did a fabulous job
cleaning and waxing our rooms over the summer.

However, it is up to the teachers to prepare the room for students.
First things first.
Get rid of the rows and create two semi circles.
I think this helps build community and enourages class discussion.

In the fall, my first priority is to prepare my classroom for students.

(never mind that cord,
it comes out of the ceiling tile to connect my computer to my Epson projector)

Posters are hung, boxes have been unpacked,
curriculum materials are filed away.
Students arrived Tuesday, and we have discussed course descriptions,
classroom expectations, and we are well on our way into our first unit.

At the end of the day,my feet are killing me.
But I'm feeling good about the start to this school year.

Happy Weekend, everyone.

Take care,
~Natalie

Belated Birthday Post for my Hubby

My Hubby's Birthday was Saturday.
We celebrated with a little road trip.

He wanted to go to another Twins game...
and I said OK!

So...a road trip it was.

It was the finale to a great summer...
Hubby is the best chauffeur when we go to special events.

You already know he is a "rock star".

This might be his best kept secret...
He is a "cat whisperer".

And, he's always been my Master Griller.

He enjoys a good round of golf.

He's the Green Thumb of our family.

I hope you had a great celebration.
Happy Birthday, Honey.

Take care,
~Natalie
