Thanksgiving Trip ~So Much to be Thankful For ~Spending Time with Family ~Preparing for the Main Event

This retired teacher spent a glorious Thanksgiving Week
with our daughter and son-in-law.

The first night dinner plan was flexible,
just in case I missed my connector flight in Minneapolis.

As soon as my arrival time was confirmed,
their lasagna went into the oven and they hopped in the car
to scoop me up at Logan International.

It was sooo good to see them.

Emily and Jake love to cook.
This was their first time to prepare
Thanksgiving Dinner together.
While Jake thoroughly washed the bird...

Emily prepared the brine.

Next, the pie crust...

and the pumpkin filling.

Perfectly fluted.

Ready for the oven.

Ready for the Thanksgiving Table.

Speaking of the table,
Jake and Emily gathered some nature
while they were visiting his parents
in New Hampshire.

They put this centerpiece together
to adorn our tablescape.

I have so much more to share,
please stay tuned.

Take care,
~Natalie

Winterfest 2017 ~The Final Preparations

Today is the day we have all been working toward.

It would be Winterfest Week without another
batch of tins in the studio.

After all, we are Tins and Treasures.

The little Santa Tins can be filled with small treats
for a Teacher or Secret Pal.

And last item in the Wood Shop was this Santa.

I can't wait to shop you the finished look.

Winterfest is open from 10 to 5 today.
Stop by and say Hello.

Take care,
~Natalie

Countdown to Winterfest 2017 ~Two Days ~Our Pumpkin Patch

It wouldn't be Thanksgiving Week without a Pumpkin Patch.

What do you see when you look at this
stack of thrift store sweaters?

That's right...

Pumpkins.

Sweater sleeves, little twigs, and some homespun...

are a nice contrast to the
wooden pumpkins in our shop.

There are pumpkins of calico,

pumpkins of homespun,

and pumpkins of sweater knit.
They are all priced, packed and ready to go.
Stop by our Pumpkin Patch at Winterfest and say Hello.

We look forward to seeing you.

Take care,
~Natalie

Countdown to Winterfest 2017 ~Three days ~Holiday Critters are Ready and Waiting

Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday.
The decorations are few and far between.
These stuffed turkeys are one of my favorite.

This year I have a "thing" for the safety pins
that I rusted.
It holds Tom Turkey's shawl in place.

Shake those tail feathers!

This is how they looked a month ago...

I love how they take on a personality when they are finished.

The Wise Old Owls are also priced, packed, and ready to go.

This is what they looked like the last time you saw them.
They look a lot smarter now, don't they?!

And in this box...
Oh wait, Lucy is not for sale.
She is priceless!

Take care,
~Natalie

Countdown to Winterfest 2017 ~Four Days

These snowmen are packed and ready to go.

I have a box of vintage wool in my storage room...
I found a piece that was perfect for these scarves.

I also experimented with making rusty safety pins.
I like how they hold the scarf in place.

This final week is full of many big finishes.

I'm excited to show you more...
Stay tuned.

Take care,
~Natalie

TGIF ~A Look at our Garage Project ~Or Maybe I Should Say Man Cave

Two months have passed since we showed you
what was happening in our garage.

It is Jasmine's favorite spot to chill.

If the foyer door is open, she will go out on her own
and wait for one of us to join her.

Hubby does just that, when he gets home from work.
Jasmine supervises from her chair.

Remember the workbench that hubby built a couple years ago?
It occupys the prime spot under the little window.

Hubby also built a stand for the giant vintage TV.

He found the perfect clock at WalMart,
and I scored this ladder at a friend's rummage sale.

This croquet set belonged to his parents.
It is just charming, isn't it?!

Proudly on display, the Precious Cargo banner.
All the guys signed it when they were together
for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction.

The treat table...hubby's cigars in the humidor.
And Jasmine treats in the Pounce container.

The Man Cave is complete.

This is the first Winterfest Project off the workbench.

It is so nice to have the space to create.

Take care,
~Natalie
