What’cha Workin’ on Wednesday ~Much Miscellaneous ~Where the Week Went

Now that Hubby is retired,
we’ve appreciated some beautiful weather
and the opportunity to go out and about.

My favorite time of the day is early in the morning.
I make a fresh pot of coffee and enjoy the sunshine on our patio.

I start my day by sending messages to our family and friends,
reading my daily inspiration, and planning my day.
I spend 45 to 50 minutes on my exercise routine
before starting my everyday housechores.

Lizzie has a new favorite chore.
This Bissell Featherweight is so handy for cleaning the stairway
and under the toe kicks in the the kitchen.
Even if she’s napping somewhere,
Lizzie gets up to come and “help” me.

We also run the Roomba everyday.
She seems more annoyed by this machine.

After all that work, it’s time to soak up some sun on the patio.

I’ve been trying a new salad recipe every week.

This was tasty...I fill a container to take to my MIL every Friday,
when I pick up and deliver her needs from the supermarket.

Speaking of tasty pasta, we joined our friends
for dinner out on Friday evening.
We hadn’t been to Roma’s for over a year.
I just had to order the Chicken Piccata.
Rafi’s Lemon Caper sauce is delicious.
He uses his mother’s recipe.

I have many items listed on the
online rummage sale sites.
This dress was one of my favorites.
I just want someone to give it a new home!

Who else feels exhausted?

Haha, yes. I have a calendar, I have multiple lists...
And, I check them often,
it’s how I keep track of what’s going on!

Take care,
~Natalie

Mother’s Day 2021 ~Here’s my Report ~Better Late than Never

Mother’s Day was already a week ago.
We celebrated with Hubby’s Mother and Sister.
Remember, his Mother will celebrate her
93rd Birthday this summer!

Our family has traditionally celebrated Mother’s Day
at Hubby’s sister’s house. Years ago, we used to drop
our young daughters off to help her with small tasks like
scrubbing potatoes and setting the table.

This year, our menu centered around these Baby Back Ribs.

With Corn on the Cob for the side...Tasted like Summer!
We also enjoyed a Green Salad and Cake for Dessert!

Our UPS Driver dropped off some friendly mail...
Way better than the bills and junk mail that we normally get!

This was one of the things in the gift bag.
Do you see that the lipstick is called Purrfect Pout?
And the name of the color is Pawsh.

Imagine this Cat Lady’s Delight when I opened the tube
and found this little Cat Face inside!
Thank you, Emily and Jake. You really made my day!

Another tradition is for Hubby to purchase
an outdoor hanging plant for his mother. And this year,
he purchased one for me, too.
It looks really pretty out on our patio.

“The Pay is Short. The Hours are Long.
It’s a 24/7 Kind of Job. Training is Learn-as-you-Go.
Patience and Wisdom required from Day One.
Retirement Isn’t an Option.”

It’s all true.
And...I’d never...ever...ever...want to retire from
being a Mother. It’s the best role ever.

I hope you all had a lovely Mother’s Day.
Now, we all look forward to the Official First Day of Summer.

Take care,
~Natalie

Happy Mothers Day to All Who Nurture and Care for Children

Happy Heavenly Mothers Day to my Mom.
I miss her a little more on this day.
I used to call her every day on my way home from work.

I know you’ve seen this photo before, it was the year 2012.
The last Mothers Day we were all together.
That summer our daughters moved away to follow their dream.
And the following winter
my mom died and followed her ultimate dream.

This photo is a favorite.
So much going on...
Every year we posed under the
“pink tree” in our backyard.

Those were the days when I sewed all of our clothes,
so we are wearing handmade dresses/outfits.

Mom and I are wearing orchid corsages
and we were on our way to church.

The girls are wearing anklets
and Emily is holding Grammy’s hand.
Like I said, “so much going on”

Two years ago, I was blessed with the opportunity
to travel Okinawa and spent time with this family.
Amy prepared a Mothers Day Brunch.
Jack says, Cheers!

We look forward to seeing ALL of them later this summer.

This is the last time we visited my mom
in her Assisted Living Facility.
I showed her what it means to “take a selfie”

Pretty sure that today, she is looking down from heaven
and is pleased with all of us.
She would be especially proud watching her granddaughters,
and the lives they have built for themselves.

Happy Mothers Day, everyone...
especially those of you who are missing their moms
who are in heaven.

Enjoy the time you spend with your
children and grandchildren, whether it’s in person,
or on a FaceTime call. Cherish the precious moments.

Take care,
~Natalie

May Day 2021 ~Here’s my Report ~We have Awesome Neighbors ~Keep the Tradition Alive

Our neighbor boys.
You’ve all seen them before.
Remember my post about the turtle in our garage?
And my previous posts about Easter baskets?
They are growing up so fast.

However, we all still enjoy the long-lived tradition
of delivering May Baskets.

The brothers each decorated a side of the bag.
They filled it with essential items for a sweet summer.

All the ingredients needed for a batch of S’Mores.
It’s not summer without roasting marshmallows
and making that tasty treat.

Sugar Cones and Salty Toppings...
Just add Ice Cream.

How cute are these plates and napkins
for dinner out on the patio.

Thank you Hayden and Holden.
You made our day!

Take care,
~Natalie

Time Spent with Family ~Odds and Ends ~Sweet Memories

Perhaps my most favorite thing is spending time visiting our adult children in their homes… Just being a part of their everyday routine make...
