Feels Like Summer ~First Friday Event ~Children’s Author Eric Carle ~And More Miscellaneous

It was a beautiful evening for Aberdeen’s First Friday Event.
We gathered with friends to enjoy a bite to eat,
and then walked to Malchow’s Plaza
to check out the live music.

Here is the view of the Plaza from
the second floor Beer and Wine Bar.
We look forward to attending more events here.

Pretty sure we set a new record
for the high temperature today.

One perk of warm summer weather is preparing dinner on the grill.
We enjoyed some Baby Back Ribs and Corn on the Cob.
The Smoked Paprika Seasoning is so tasty.

And Blackened Chicken Thighs with Pasta Carbonara.
The Salad Greens and Salad Add-Ins taste
so fresh at this time of the year.

This week I got my summer haircut,
just in time for this heat wave.

Yesterday was National Donut Day,
so I brought this sweet treat to enjoy
with Hubby and his Mother.

I am still listing items on the On-Line Rummage Sale,
hoping to find a new home for some
of my favorite summer attire.

Late last week we were saddened by the news
of the death of this beloved Children’s Author.
Maybe you recall when Amy, Jack, and I visited
the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst, MA.
It was a delightful experience.

He is well known for several lovely Children’s Books,
especially The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
This story is about how change is inevitable
and how we adapt to the change is what defines us.
That big fat caterpillar builds a cocoon
and then emerges as a beautiful butterfly.

A meaningful Moral of the Story for all of us...
Young and Young at Heart.

Enjoy what’s left of the weekend.
Stay cool, my friends!

Take care,
~Natalie
