In case you haven't heard...we are having a mild winter here in the Dakotas.

Usually...by now...I have posted about snowstorms and subzero temperatures.

But we have nothing to complain about this year...

yet...

Also...did I mention that I have more sewing supplies that I can possibly use in the remainder of my lifetime?

This was the mess of thread that I had stashed away...

And now, this evening, it is organized by color, into these storage trays.

While I was organizing my thread,

Hubby was making our dinner...

He roasted a whole chicken on the grill...

It is sooo moist and delicious.

Accompanied with wild rice and salad...

it was a perfect ending to our day.

TGIF and Where the Week Went...

This was a five day week...and it was five very full days!

I start my day with our Fitness for Life Class...

I enjoy those students sooo much.

Protein and Breakfast Burritos were in the lesson plan...

My afternoon classes = Personal Development.

Our School Resource Officer spends time with us to address student concerns...

to demonstrate the tazer...

and to take us through a mock traffic stop,

complete with field sobriety tests.

Plus...

we are so lucky to have Prevention Specialists on our staff

to lead discussions with our students about drugs and alcohol.

And in the evenings?

I continue to sew Infinity Scarves,

as they have been very popular this fall and winter.

I am having a serious DeStash in my Studio...

organizing and listing items in my Notions Etsy Shoppe.

A social life, you ask??

Remember, my hubby play in a band...

Happy Hour Jazz on Tuesday!

Plus...it was Patty's Birthday...

Time to Celebrate!

But... I ended my week with a major downer...

Can you guess where I am?

Remember, I needed two crowns...

You know it's going to be a long appointment when your dentist gives you the remote for the TV...

I was there for four hours.

My Studio DeStash...

I have more sewing and crafting supplies that I can possible use in my lifetime...

and I just really need to do something about it!

I can just imagine our daughters, as they sort through my belongings some day...

"why did mom have so much stuff?" they will ask.

Well, I have been creating all of my life.

I started sewing with the sewing machine when I was 10.

That's over 45 years of purchasing fabric and notions!

Not to mention, I worked at Northwest Fabrics from 1978 to 1985.

And, when they had a sale...they. had. a. sale!

Some of you remember a year and a half ago,

I moved my mom from her little townhouse to the assisted living center.

Her sewing supplies are here now too.

She had many things in here drawers that were

"too pretty to use"

Like this...

So I organized...measured...took photos...

and listed the laces and ribbons in my

Natalie's Notions Etsy Shop.

(I had to tell Lucy that Etsy does not have a category to list cats.)

TGIF and my Highlight of the Week

I look forward to Fridays, as I get to spend my lunch with these sweet young ladies.

They are the charter members of our high school knitting club.

While some are experienced, others are just learning the basic stitches...

but together we are focused on a common goal.

And, that is to create scarves to donate to the

Special Olympics USA Scarf Project

South Dakota needs 900 scarves...they have received 250.

Every state has a need....

so...join us by knitting...

crocheting...

or maybe, just donate some funds for yarn.

Monday Mail Call ~ A Big Surprise!

So...a few weeks ago, hubby says,

"Honey, did you remember that we get points for using our debit card?"

I said, "Hmmm...I guess I forgot about that..."

Hubby says, "Well, it appears we have quite a few points...

We should look at the list of things we can order."

"OK..."

Sooo...

Our reward came yesterday.

And thanks to our UPS delivery person, it was well concealed...

When I got home from school,

this is what I found.

Are you in suspense?!

Yup...with our rewards points...

for free...

...a new TV!!

So, this old beast has been retired to the shop...

...And this new beauty has been installed.

It feels like it is just too good to be true!

College Game Day Report ~ the NDSU Bison win the National Championship

In yesterday's National Championship game,

Our North Dakota State University Bison

beat

the Sam Houston State Bearkats

17 to 6

The Bison defense is second to none...

They marched through the play-off games beating

James Madison 26-14

Lehigh 24-0

Georgia Southern 35-7

There were some great plays in the title game.

While thousands of fans made the trip to Frisco, Texas,

we joined the fans celebrating in the Bison's home state.

Tuesday's Topics: Studio Destash, Not Forgotten Gift, Online Rummage Sale, Windy Days, NCLB, Dementia, and a couple of Crowns

I was pulled so many directions in December, and I so appreciated a few days at home to regroup...

...starting with my Studio...so many supplies...not enough time.

I am sorting, organizing and listing the extras in my Etsy Notions Shop.

A Christmas gift that didn't make the first blog list is this sweet smelling candle.

Most of my gifts remain under the tree...opened...but still under the tree.

This one had gone straight to the kitchen, and didn't make the first photo shoot.

But, I think Toasted Pistachio Delight is my new favorite!

The on-line rummage sale in our community is going strong.

This item sold today.

Taking photos of our items is my current challenge, as it is dark when I leave for work,

and dusk when I get home.

However, this week, the wind has been a problem.

Very, very windy here...no picture taking out on the patio.

I've been working through some frustrations at school...

this deserves a blog post of its own.

Later.

Heavy on my mind is my mom's health.

Her memory has always been so sharp.

I would always call her when I needed family information...until now...

She is remembering less and less every day.

And...last but not least...

I got into the dentist today.

Remember, I had lost a filling and then part of a tooth.

Well, wasn't a tooth...it was two teeth.

And the recommendation?

Two crowns.

Seriously??

That will be 2 hours and 15 minutes in the dentist's chair.

And would you like to see the the projected fees?

Yup...that's for crown #1 and for crown #2.

I would rather spend my hard earned money on just about anything else...

...dishwasher, laptop, camera, gas for my vehicle, family vacation, clothes, boots, groceries, home improvements, etc., etc...

But, I guess, I don't have a choice, do I?!

I'll keep you posted.

Santa, You Spoil Me...

The best gifts come from the heart...

Hubby knows I am in love with Vintage Dress Forms,

and they are nearly impossible to find.

Or, so I thought...

but Hubby surprised me with this little sweetie.

Maybe for my dresser, maybe for my bathroom vanity...

But I just know she'll be perfect, no matter where she sits.

From our daughters,

this luxurious ivory scarf...so elegant, so versatile.

(Might I point out that it is raining in South Dakota, in December...

...and that's unheard of!)

Also from the girls, a beautiful set of stemware...

eight sparkling crystal wine glasses.

It seems the set we got for our wedding, 30 years ago,

is no longer a complete set.

Velvet-covered hangers from my Sister in Law...

Glamorous bracelet from my Mother in Law...

And not one, but two magazine subscriptions.

I feel like royalty!

In my stocking...

Lady Gaga CDs,

Lancome Juicy Tubes,

and Dunkin' Donuts Coffee.

It's the best tasting coffee, hands down.

This is from a co-teacher and friend...our classrooms are side by side...

we both understand that somedays, you just need instant dinner!

...And from my students...

I should remind you that, while elementary teachers always get gifts,

high school teachers, not so often.

This year I was remembered by some very thoughtful young adults.

Brooke, the chocolates may be gone in a month,

but the handwritten note will be with my keepsakes forever.

Lillie, your sweet note has a spot in my keepsake box too...

And check out these coffee mugs.

One for my car, and

the chalk board mug allows me to write a different message everyday.

Just kidding!

The biggest surprise of all came from my senior super study...

(that's just our name for home room)

I'm not so sure when they pulled this off,

as they are only together once a week.

A basket of spa products...

...a wonderful gift.

But there's more...

What a treat!

And their handwritten notes...

priceless!

It was a special Christmas, that's for sure.

Thank you, family, friends and students.

Was Santa Good to You? And a recipe for Elegant Wild Rice Soup...our Christmas Eve Tradition

Lucy loves to lay under the Christmas tree when the lights are on.

I think she looks a little disturbed that there is no longer a place for her there.

Oh, and do you notice how the tree is tilting to the left?

That would be Callie trying to climb up into the branches.

Some of you remember this scene from two years ago.

(Yes, those are new shatter-proof ornaments.)

My best Christmas gift was having our family around our dining room table.

(My mother can no longer travel, so we did miss her this Christmas eve.)

Every year we go to church together and return home for soup and appetizers.

This is our family's favorite.

Elegant Wild Rice Soup

1 cup wild rice

3 cups water

6 tbsp. butter

1 small onion, chopped

1/2 c. flour

3 cups chicken broth

3/4 cup minced ham,chicken or turkey

1/2 cup shredded carrots

1/4 cup sliced almonds

1/4 cup vermouth

1 cup half and half

Bring rice and water to boil. Simmer 45 minutes.

Melt butter, saute onion. Blend in flour, gradually stir in broth. Bring to a boil. Add remaining soup ingredients and heat through.

This year, due to a shortage on time, I purchased the cans of cooked wild rice...plus they were on sale and less expensive. Wow, is that a time saver!

Instead of using ham this year, I used left-over turkey from our noon meal.

Hubby said he liked it better...less salty...

While Emily was preparing the soup,

I prepared the TGIF Baked Potato Skins. I just have to make them every year, as the red and green look like Christmas...plus they are sooo yummy!

I received some very special gifts from my family and students.

I'm waiting for some sunshine to take photos.

(I can't wait to show you.)

Monday Mail Call ~ Secret Sister Revealed

My Christmas package arrived... I could hardly stand the suspense...

My Secret Sister has been sending me goodies since last March.

Always packaged to prim perfection,

with tissue and twine!

Now... I know she is a busy mom...

but takes the time to make hand stitched goodies.

Even a handmade paper pouch for chocolates.

(With a reusable shopping bag...how does she know me so well?)

The highlight was this handmade snowman.

Gallivanting & a Thought that makes me Sad

Friends, you are all so caring with your comments and emails to cheer me...

Also for your expressions of concern for my mom...I feel like I should offer a little more explanation...

Just two years ago, my mom was living on her own.

Taking care of herself and her little townhouse.

And yes, that included clearing the snow from her walkway.

She and her gentleman friend went out and about everyday.

She would say they were gallivanting.

Gallivanting to the St. Olaf Church activities...to the VFW events honoring WWII Vets...

and their favorite was to go to Mr. and Mrs. J's for a bowl of soup.

She went to the meetings for Senior Citizens, WELCA, and Eastern Star...

She loves family and is very proud of all of her nieces and nephews...

and was always pleased to be included in family gatherings.

And every. single. day (weather permitting) she went to visit the elderly.

At Heartland Care, at the Odd Fellows home, at Mercy Hospital...

sometimes she would travel out of town to visit her friends.

She was honored at the RSVP spring banquet for visiting with the elderly.

I asked her,"Mom, since you are 88, how old are the elderly?"

Then she would say.

"I shouldn't spend so much time gallivanting when I have work to do."

But now...she is elderly, she is a shut-in.

She doesn't see well, she doesn't hear well.

She is frustrated. She is confused.

She is lonesome.

And does she have visiters?

Few and far between.

This is the thought that makes me sad.

Mom, the days you spent gallivanting, were hours well spent.

I'm pretty sure you made someone's day.

The Bad Blogger Award...

Yes...I did nominate myself last week...

...for some reason, lately, nothing seems blog worthy.

I've posted very little...I've commented very little...

...And I don't like it very much.

I have always tried to keep my blog a friendly, positive place to visit...

and I'm not really feeling so positive right now.

Kinda down...pretty flat...sorta sad...

In fact, I cried on the way to work last week....twice...

Words can't express why I'm feeling this way...

it's a little bit of everything...a whole lot of nothing...

But, for starters,

1. I don't think my mom is doing very well right now...

2. We have implemented a new program at school, which has caused me much frustration...

3. My house is a mess and I can't seem to find the time or energy to do something about it...

4. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (which means Christmas is not).

And yes, I feel guilty for saying that...

5. Oh, and I'm going to need to go to the dentist, as a filling fell out and part of my tooth chipped away...

Anyway...

Thanks for listening to me, everyone.

Tomorrow is Monday...the start of a fresh new week.

And for me,

I will be working on a fresh new attitude.

So much to be Thankful for... and a Cyber Monday Reminder...

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday...

Family...Good Food...Giving Thanks...

And now...Thanksgiving 2011 is just a memory.

A good memory, that is.

Emily prepared her first Thanksgiving Dinner for us in her apartment.

Turkey roasting in the oven...

stuffing in the slow cooker...

potatoes waiting to to peeled and cooked...

We had all our favorite side dishes...

stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy...

sweet potatoes, scalloped corn, and broccoli salad...

Carving the turkey is a position of honor and always goes to the oldest man in the household.

(that would be my hubby)

Amy traveled the farthest...

she was responsible for the beverages.

It was just our family of four, and I so enjoyed our time together.

And now we are all back in our own homes, packing away the pumpkin decor.

We are ready to face the reality of Monday morning at work,

rejuvenated after spending time with family.

Winterfest 2011 ~

Welcome to our Tins and Treasures booth at

Aberdeen's 33rd annual Winterfest.

(Hubby is adjusting something with our antique cash drawer)

The doors opened at 10 am...we finished setting up at 9:55...

The lights in the arena are turned low and artists are required to light their own booth.

It makes for a very festive atmosphere.

We are still using my Grandma Hilda's old ironing board to showcase

smaller items in the center of our booth.

Displaying my Infinity Scarves proves to be a bit of a challenge.

Especially when everything else is primitive rustic.

I have old wooden hangers to drape them, like so...

Adding to the festive atmosphere...Holiday Jazz...

Do you recognize the musicians?

This is the group my hubby often plays with.

Today, it was the Jazz Trio.

Between jazz sets, high school students entertain us with

familiar Christmas Carols.

I catch myself humming along!

I am sticking close to home, as we are preparing for our annual Winterfest...

What's for Dessert?

Fruit Pizza

Make the crust first, so it has time to cool.

Recipe for delicious crust...

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup flour

1/4 cup oatmeal

1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Mix together. Press into round pizza pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool.

Next layer...

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp. fruit juice (reserved from the canned pineapple)

Beat together and spread on cooled crust.

Arrange any assortment of fruit on top.

Mandarin Oranges

Bananas

Fresh Strawberries

Kiwi

Maraschino Cherries

The Dakota Marker is a model replica of the quartzite monuments that were used to decipher the border between North and South Dakota when Dakota Territory was split into 2 states.

Things in my House that make me Smile...

I just had to bring them inside.

You see...there was frost on the pumpkin.

The "have to scrape the windshield" kind of frost.

Kinda busy here, as the first school term ends tomorrow...

What Bella does when Amy goes to work...

Remember last November...when Bella was so sick?

She had fatty liver disease...

but with Amy's persistence and the family force feedings,

Bella has recovered.

When Amy is home, Bella doesn't leave her side...

follows her from room to room.

But Amy has a career job and has to go to work...

in fact, she often works very long hours.

Remember, I was there for Amy's first day of work...

I was able to observe, first hand, what Bella does when Amy is at work.

And no...she doesn't sleep all day.

She watches the birds and squirrels,

and visits the neighbors upstairs.

And she eats three square meals a day.

But mostly...

she watches for Amy to come home.

Our furry friends are such faithful friends...

Thursday evening, my friend, Cathy, called to say they had extra tickets

and invited us to attend the game with them.

Well, I didn't have to think about that very long...

because not only could we go to the game,

but I could spend time with our Emily.

Several friends from college have joined efforts to host a tailgating spot.

It was such a nice day, fans could enjoy the outdoors.

But later in the season, the shelter of the bus is much appreciated.

Plus, you never know who you will run into on the way to the bathroom!

Our seats were fantastic.

(This was taken late in the game, when most folks had left for the parking lot...

otherwise the Fargo Dome was filled to capacity)

And the Bison did not disappoint.

Fall Harvest ~ It's Turkey Day Here!

My Basic Foods students stepped up to the challenge this week.

With only one week left in the term, we celebrated Fall with our Turkey Dinner.

My senior students prepare the birds for roasting.

I like to use roasting bags, as it reduces the time in the oven,

and also keeps the turkeys, oh, so moist!

We made 54 pounds of turkey...

...and the aroma...

Well, I think you could smell them roasting all over the academic wing.

We pause to talk a moment about continuing family traditions...

...and learning to make the foods that have been a part of your family for generations.

and a position of honor.

We prepared our desserts yesterday.

Tuesday Tip of the Day ~ Perfect Cinnamon Rolls

Just how do you get those picture perfect cinnamon rolls?

For a printer friendly recipe for our

Basic Foods Sweet Roll Dough,

Click here.

After the dough has risen till double in size,

punch down and roll out into a rectangle.

Spread softened butter, leaving one long edge of the rectangle "naked".

Sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.

2/3 cup granulated sugar

2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Stretch and roll rectangle toward the "naked" edge.

Seal and turn seam side down.

Use a sharp knife to mark the dough "tube" in 16 equal size rolls.

You know...half...then fourths...then eighths...then sixteenths...

With an arm's length of sewing thread...

place thread underneath the tube and then criss-cross to slice into rolls.

Place cut side down in a greased 9 x 13 baking pan

Let rise until double in size.

Bake at 375 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes.

Drizzle with Powdered Sugar Icing.

Smells like Autumn!

Northern State University's Gypsy Day Parade is one of the best around.

180 entries...to be exact.

A Parade Highlight for me, is when our Marching Band comes down the street...

...with precision and power...

I love to see my students participating in activities outside of the classroom.

It was overcast, but a perfect morning to spend with good friends

celebrating our Aberdeen community.

My hubby has, again, been making bottle necklaces...

for the dinner party host and hostess...

for the winter bride and groom...

I have 15 new fabrics and will finish the sewing in the next day or two.

There are just 11 days left of the first term...

In Basic Foods we are making Combination Foods.

Where the week went...where the month went...

The whole week has passed since my last blog post...

I haven't forgotten about you...I promise!

Hubby invited the folks from his office to a dinner party here on Tuesday,

so we spent much of last weekend and Monday preparing...

When a large group is here, we like to move our DR table at an angle

to encourage traffic to move out to the patio.

I also like to set out my serving pieces in advance, before the kitchen is full of guests.

Callie and Lucy were called in to inspect...

Tuesday's weather was perfect.

A good time was had by all.

And the partying didn't stop there...

It was pastry week in my Basic Foods classes...

96 apples + 48 cups of flour + shortening = 16 pies

I stayed after school on Wednesday to finish baking the pies for the last class.

They all look pretty nice, don't you think?

Students invite guests to join our class for pie and ice cream...

teachers, principals, counselors, secretaries and parents.

The students set their tables...including centerpieces...

and learn the proper way to serve.

Again, a good time was had by all!

Sooo...by Friday, I was a weary hostess and was happy to just relax!

Hubby and his friends play in a little jazz group downtown.

Mike's folk's drove in to hear them play and have a little dinner.

He came out to serenade his mom and dad...

don't they look proud?

And they should be...Mike has an amazing talent.

In fact, the whole group has amazing talent.

Good Music...Good Food...Good Friends...

It was the perfect ending to a busy week.

I hope you are all getting some time

for rest and relaxation this weekend.

Happy Birthday to my Mom

It's my mom's birthday...she is 91 today.

We celebrated with her last weekend.

Emily made enough Million Dollar Pie

for everyone at the home.

Gifts were simple, as my mom doesn't want anymore stuff.

(neither do I...really...)

Family has always been so important to my mom...

she loves hearing from her granddaughters, siblings, nieces and nephews.

She stayed active in the community until about 18 months ago...

Clearing her own snow...

Going out to eat with her gentleman friend...

And participating in church events.

I talked to her earlier this evening.

She so enjoyed the cards and calls she received today.

She had a good day.

What'cha Workin' On Wednesday ~ Question of the Day ~ and Sometimes I just Laugh Out Loud

Tomorrow = first term parent/teacher conferences.

This week students are checking grades and handing in missing assignments.

So, I am correcting and recording like crazy tonight!

In Basic Foods class we prepared our Homemade Pizza...

and again, the never-ending debate...

does the pepperoni go under or over the cheese?

I overheard one student say,

You have to put the pepperoni on top, so the customer knows what kind of pizza it is.

Obviously, he works in a pizza place with a lunch buffet.

How do you all layer your homemade pizza?

...For Starters...It was Homecoming Weekend.

At the Pep Assembly, I sat with the football players.

The cheerleaders and band generated enthusiasm.

It was a great start to my weekend.

It is Homecoming Week...

and I am proud to say, the Homecoming King is in my Advocate Group.

(that's a high school term for home room)

Meet Matthew...

He is nice to everyone...he greets everyone by name...

and always has a positive attitude.

(and...did you notice that I took this opportunity to bring out my cupcake tree?!)

I cannot believe they are seniors!

I have 'mothered' them for four years.

(Pretty sure I'll cry on their last day of school!)

Some of you know I am referred to as the 'Queen Mother' at school

Yes, both of our daughters were Homecoming Queens...

one in 2002 and one in 2006.

(This has never happened before...

Sisters, both selected to represent their class as the Homecoming Queen.)

This photo is pretty special, as we three were together on Mothers Day...

first time since 2003.

Homecoming Week doesn't mean we can be slackers in class.

This week is the start of our Yeast Bread unit in Basic Foods.

Are these just not the most perfectly shaped crescent rolls you've ever seen??

And these? Golden brown in color...

Melt in your mouth texture...

Outdoor living ~ Tuesday Tip of the Day

It's September...the weather is changing...

We will soon have to say goodbye to our outdoor living areas.

Sooo sad...as I love our patio...

I love sitting out there in the early morning and the late afternoon.

This summer...

It seems like it rained so often here...

and my chair cushions were always saturated...

Just tuck this tip away for next year...

Use your clip clothes pins to hold those chair cushions in a vertical position.

The water runs right off.

The chair cushions aren't so saturated...

and you're are ready for guests in a moment's notice.

TGIF & a South Dakota Seafood Boil...

Usually, a Dinner Party in South Dakota involves a grill and some form of beef...

hamburgers...steak...prime rib...

(Now, I'm not complaining...I love a good steak!)

but, our friends, Chuck and Wendy, were in the mood for a change of pace.

Their backyard is beautiful...lush and green.

The evening weather was perfect out on their patio.

Here's Patty and our lovely hostess, Wendy.

Our dinner was divine...

Shrimp...Lobster...Sausage...

Potatoes...Onions...Corn...

And, conversation with good friends lasted way into the darkness.

Thank you for the wonderful evening.

What'cha Working on Wednesday? Introducing our new Fall Collection at Tins and Treasures

Labor Day Weekend was a great opportunity to put some finishing touches on our new Fall items for my Etsy shop.

Hubby has finished several Wine Bottle Necklaces using beads in the warm colors of fall.

They can dress up a bottle of wine for the bride and groom,

or the host and hostess at your next dinner party.

If wine isn't your thing...use one to decorate a bottle of gourmet olive oil

or herb flavored dipping oil for your favorite chef.

While hubby was watching football/golf/baseball and working his magic on copper tubing,

I was in my sewing studio finishing another batch of Infinity Scarves.

The colors of fall are so rich and warm.

Soon, it will be cool enough to appreciate the comfort and warmth of a scarf around my neck!

Of course, my shop couldn't be Tins and Treasures without a batch of Fall Decorative tins...

...just tuck some treats inside for your prayer partner at church or your secret pal at work.

Pumpkins are a must in your fall decor.

And, I guess, I went nuts with the Knit Sweater Sleeve variety...

but they are just so fun to make!

It looks like I've raided a few closets...

but thanks to the local thrift stores, I have found some great sweaters in some great fall colors.

I'm going to be listing these items in my Etsy shop over the next couple of days,

When cutting fabric for quilt squares, there's always that selvage edge...

And the serger trimmings...always long and uniform in width...

What do you all do with yours?

Do they really belong in the landfill??

When our daughters were young, it was wonderful textile spaghetti.

It would provide hours of entertainment...

I just can't bear to through it all away!

Now, I find that it is the perfect weight and texture for stuffing many of my projects,

Pumpkins, Turkeys, Santas and Snowmen.

And it's practically free!

Happy Labor Day and some Unfinished Business

This is South Dakota Senator James H. Kyle.

He was one of the main sponsors of the bill to create the Labor Day Holiday.

He and his wife built a home here in Aberdeen.

The home did not have a kitchen...apparently Mrs. Kyle did not like to cook.

Where did the Week Go? Where did the Summer Go??...and a recipe for Harvest Zucchini

It is officially the last weekend of our summer.

We all have been back into our school routine for two weeks now.

I start my day at our local market, purchasing supplies for my Basic Foods labs.

It was Quick Breads week in our classes.

Here are the student rations of butter for their waffles, muffins, and homemade biscuits.

(One of my pet peeves...crumbs in the butter and butter in the jelly jar)

This was my classroom in the middle of August...

I spent a couple of afternoons, cleaning and hanging posters on the wall.

However, it has been very humid here...

Sooo humid, that every morning there are a few more posters on the floor.

And it's not like I didn't use enough tape...

(Note to self:

Next year, wait until after Labor Day

to hang anything on the walls)

What do you do when your friend gives you zucchini from her garden?
