Our daughters would usually hang out with Grandpa in the den, while grandma, my sister-in-law and I finished the dinner preparations...we read the newspaper, watched football or baseball, whatever the season...
Now that the girls are all grown up, it is seldom that we are all together.
This summer, before we all went back to school, Grandma recreated the Sunday feast...Roast, potatoes, gravey, carrots, salad, and, of course, chocolate dessert.
Now, classes have started... and both of our girls have their books and have attended lectures, and this week are taking tests. We want you to know that we are so proud of you and all your accomplishments. Keep up the good work at school! Mom and Dad

Your girls could do toothpaste commercials with those winning smiles!
When my late dh was alive, and when his dad was still alive, his mom had the entire family over for Sunday dinner every week. They were a large Italian family; the food was great, and the conversations were loud. This all took place before my daughter was born. My son still has memories of those fun times, but I've felt bad that my dd didn't get to experience those grandparent Sunday memory-making dinners.
