Things In My House Thursday IV

My Grandma's Hats
Remember the days when a lady did not leave the house without a hat...to church...to the store...she always wore a hat! Some for summer, some for cold weather, they were all very charming...
I have my Grandma's hats, and rather than storing them away, I have them on display...some in our guest room, and some in our foyer.
And in the antique picture frame, this sweet little gift that my mom received...handwriting on the back says St.Lukes Girls Dormitory
North Broadway
Fargo, North Dakota
July 26, 1939
And it is signed by her friends...I must find out the rest of the story, as she was only 19 years old at the time...
My Friend
Someone is thinking of you today~
Thinking of you in a friendly way,
Wishing you joy in whatever you do
And hoping this day will hold gladness for you.

Ohhh, I love hats! I have several old ones that I actually wear. The problem is, I have a really little head...and the pillbox ones fit but the others....well, I swim in them :)

Very cool that you have them displayed.

What a treasure! They're lovely, and such a neat heirloom.

These make such a pretty display; any old "video" of my mother and aunts shows them in their hats and heels - - even at the zoo!!

Sorry my blog/template was in transition - you can link now if you'd like; please and thanks : )

What a beautiful post..
Your photos of your Mom at the bottom of your page are lovely.
I want to thank you for offering me help. That is so kind of you.
And for the kind comment you left.

Aren't those hats beautiful! I love that you display them -- They are works of art and have wonderful sentimental memories, I'm sure.
