TGIF & The Purple Cow

Ok...first of all...what's wrong with parents these days? None of my high school students had heard The Purple Cow poem...are parents not reciting these silly poems to their kids anymore?? I see 120 students a day and none of them would admit that they knew this poem. Perhaps that would not have been cool... ...But the Purple Cow was a hit...the Purple Cow drink that is...We made them today in my Fitness for Life class along with our Whole Wheat Pancakes...nutritious and delicious...
The Purple Cow
1 cup milk
1/2 cup grape juice concentrate
1/2 cup 7up
1 chunk ice cream
ice cubes
Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
I never saw a purple cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you anyhow,
I'd rather see, than be one.

I'm not sure I ever recited that poem to my kids... guess I dropped the ball there. I did, however, make wonderful drinks like the one you mention for them. So, I guess I didn't drop the ball too badly!

I can't believe how many kids don't know nursery rhymes.

Somewhere in my house I have a book called The Purple Cow. The poem and a whole bunch of craft ideas are in it. My kids loved it ~ thanks for the reminder. I'll have to track it down for my grandbabies!

I don't know this poem!! That means I am a bad parent, but even worse? My MOM is a bad parent for not teaching me.
The drink sounds yummilicious.
