Tuesday's Topics ~ Temperature, Tip of the Day, & True Temptation

This is what 17 below looks like at 7:30 in the morning....

...the sunrise creates a pretty rosy glow...

I love the sound of the snow crunching under my feet when I walk...

This is what a quadruple batch of party mix looks like...

...the first batch is gone, as I sent some to each of the girls...they are preparing for final exams...

...and I sent some with Line and her friends for their road trip to Iowa...
My secret ingredient??
Cayenne Pepper...

It gives a nice little surprise...

Tuesday's Tip of the Day
When melting the butter, use the wax paper baggie from inside the cereal box to prevent spatters inside your microwave oven.

It never fails...the butter always pops and makes such a mess in my microwave...but now I can just throw this messy bag away when I am finished...

In fact, I save the bags from all of our unsweetened cereal, as they come in handy for so many things....like crushing graham cracker crumbs for desserts...

Shake out the crumbs, roll them up, and confine them in an empty paper towel tube...

(OK, yes, my mother grew up during the depression...and I picked up a lot of frugal tips from her. But I have yet to wash saran wrap and hang it on the side of my refrigerator)

Today's Temptation

We were nearly out of cat food...

I had to stop at the clinic, as we need special food for our overweight, under active cats (fat & lazy, that is)

My sister-in-law has worked there for years, so I cannot stop without meeting the patients...A few weeks ago, the Humane Society brought a cat out to be spayed...but instead, she gave birth to babies...they have been at the clinic since. On Friday, one was adopted, leaving little 'blackie' there alone... He's had a tough time...so needs some special loving...Oh, how he can cuddle...he talks a lot and loves to be around people...

In another cage, there were three siblings...just rescued yesterday. Two sisters and a brother...still pretty nervous. This one was the most social...she started purring immediately...her coat was was plush and thick...

She was a lover...and her sister looks just like her...

Here is their brother...his tail is short...like a bob tail cat...Isn't he smug?!

So...Bouncer, the Clinic Cat...recommends that you please...please...please...consider coming out to the clinic and giving one (or more) of these sweet kitties a new home for the holidays.

Such a fun post with great tips and adorable felines. Oh, those little kitties are adorable. Too far away from me to be tempted to run to the shelter...
