Where the Weekend Went

Since we needed to have Line at the airport before 9 a.m., we left after school on Friday to make the 3 hour trip to Fargo.  Our first errand was to pick up Emily's new bike.  She found one...at WalMart...on clearance...in the garden center....

Remember last summer?  Did I ever mention  that Emily had not just one, but two bikes stolen while she was in summer school?   It was a 20 minute walk from her apartment to campus, so she really appreciated having her bike there...her nice new shiney blue bike there...it was the nicest bike on the rack...
Someone just cut through the bike lock and took it away.  We were all sooo upset.

The next weekend, when she was home, her aunt told her she could use her bike for the rest of the summer and fall...a nice new shiney red bike.  With hesitation, she took that bike back with her, because she not only rides to and from class, but uses her bike for cross-training workouts...

She bought a new bike lock...the heaviest and the best...

And the dirty, rotton, thieves cut through that one too....

Well...Wish us luck with this one...

It was Sidewalk Sale Days, so we enjoyed some time shopping and eating with Emily and Jake...

Hubby's favorite place to eat is Granite City and his favorite burger is the Bedda Chedda.

What are your weekend highlights?

I'm glad Emily got a new bike and I hope this one will be safe!

My weekend was quiet, but nice. I did a lot of reading yesterday. I don't do that too often so it was nice!

Granite City is a fun place to eat. One of my favorites!

Sorry to hear that Emily's bikes keep getting stolen. Our youngest decided not to take one to school as too many friends were having theirs stolen. But he has a good transit system so that helps.

I see many students here carting their seats or front wheels on their bikes in effort to keep them from being stolen. I hope your daughter can keep hers this time.

Our weekend didn't go as planned but that's ok!

So sorry to hear about the stolen bikes. Someone should come up with an alarm system for them. That burger looks so yummy!

She needs an old, unattractive bike! My daughters college has a whole shed full of bikes that kids left when they went home for breaks or whatever. She should see if her school has a place like that.
