Whatcha Working On Wednesday?

It is a beautiful day for a drive.
I am making the 4 hour trip to mom's.
While I am looking forward to seeing her, I am not too excited about what I am going to do while I am  there.
Yes, it is the end of the month...
I must complete the final cleaning of her apartment and turn in her keys.

I am happy that she is adjusting well to the assisted living facility...
...but so sad about what she has had to give up.

Take care,
~Natalie

I am so sorry that she has had to give up much of her independence too.
I did not realize she was four hours away....that is quite the drive.
Be safe...and remember, you are lucky to still have her, even if she is not where you wanted her to be.
Hugs, Suz

I am so sorry that she is so far away. Do you have siblings in the area where she is? I know how hard it is to be away from our parents when they get older. Both my parents are in their 80s but live at home. Luckily, my younger sister lives within a couple of blocks of them and can pop in more regularly than I can. I hope you are blessed with siblings as I am.

I can imagine how hard it must be to finish cleaning out her things. I'm glad to hear she's adjusting well to her new home. Hang in there.

It's okay to be sad....but look at it as a new chapter...it's just like turning the page. It will be okay. :)

I'm getting ready for 2 baby showers and then I will be working on things for FourDogDay and looking for vintage things for my new Vintage Corner or shop. Should be lots of fun!

I just read this post after my comment before. (I hope it doesn't seem inappropriate. I didn't intend for it to be.) My heart goes out to you because that seems like such a hard thing to do. I hope it goes well and she is blessed to have you to care for her like this.

I'm so sorry to hear that your mom has had to give up her independence. I usto be a Home Care Provider, and I saw it first hand. When I quit, a couple of my gals had to go into assisted living or nursing home, and it made me feel very sad. I don't look forward to getting old. I hope your mom is adjusting to her new place. And I hope you are feeling better about the situation. Think of it as a positive thing for your mom. At least there will be someone around all the time to help take care of her.
