Trusting Garmin...

How did we get anywhere before technology?
With advice from MapQuest and our Garmin on hand,
I still relied on my old fashioned Rand McNally to find my way across Minnesota to visit Amy.
After 7 hours and 15 minutes of beautiful trees, corn fields and road construction,
I reached my destination.
Amy and Bella were trying to stay cool, as the air conditioning was not working properly.
It was a beautiful evening to walk downtown to the
We enjoyed browsing the hundreds of arts and vendors.
Our favorite was the booth by JavaCycle...
check out their website to see their fabulous burlap pillows and market bags.
Refreshing beverages...
Yummy shrimp kabobs...
Live music...

Spending time with Amy...
...priceless.

Take care,
~Natalie

I'll be in the beautiful mid-west next month, and in Rochester on a Thursday! Will have to check this out. But those high temps better be over with by then, I'm getting out of TX and I want some NICE weather!

Natalie,

I hope you had a lovely trip. I do not have a Garmin, and rely on my Husband and the state maps of places we go...or of course mapquest. Boy, I do love a road trip. Hope yours was fun. Hugs, Robin

Nat,

We don't have a Garmin either but I did buy the son one. After he gave me directions like, you go down the road Walmart is on, make a left at the light and go 2 lights and make a right, without knowing what the roads were called, I figured he would be lost in a heartbeat! He uses it all the time when he's out driving. I tell him his dad and I had to rely on actual road maps that we had to read ourselves when we would go to unknown locations!

Glad you had a good time with Amy.

The whole trip sounds really fun, but you hit the nail on the head when you said spending time with your girl is priceless. It's just the best spending time with family!

We have a Garmin but recently purchased a Tom Tom because it cost about the same amount as it would have to update the maps on our old Garmin AND the Tom Tom has lifetime free map updates.

Enjoy the time with your precious daughter and when it's time to return home, drive safely.

How wonderful to spend time with your girl!!!
Nope, I don't know HOW we managed before technology at all.
The festival looks great!

Oh yes, where were we before tech-NO came about? Nothing beats knowing how to read a map or having to memorize a phone number by heart.....the good old fashioned ways that young folks these days don't often grasp.

Looks like such a fun trip!!!
