The Dakota Marker is the trophy awarded to the winner of the annual college football game played between the
NDSU Bison and the SDSU Jackrabbits.
The Dakota Marker is a model replica of the quartzite monuments that were used to decipher the border between North and South Dakota when Dakota Territory was split into 2 states.

So, the Bison traveled across the border, ready to play some football,
and NDSU retains the Dakota Marker.

And at the same time...on a different channel...
our neighbors to the south were playing our neighbors to the east.
The University of Nebraska was at the University of Minnesota.
The Huskers did not disappoint.

Natalie, Our daughter keeps getting information from SDSU and she thinks we need to make a campus visit! She may need a surrogate mother out there.....!~Ann
I did not know about the marker...learn something everyday!
I went to SDSU...what I didn't realize is San Diego State University has the same letters :)
Happy Sunday!
Yay for someone else loving college football! I was getting to the point I thought I was the only one....LOL Yes, our Griz played Northern Arizona and we won! It was a great game. Kit
Everyone is so all about college football, and I pretty much pay no attention to it. I'm such an outcast. On college football day at school, I had no sweatshirt to wear, had to borrow someones.
