A Week of Change ~Mother-in-Law is in her new Home

Hubby’s Mother has been on a waiting list for the perfect place
to become available at her preferred Assisted Living Facility.

And yes, I do mean “perfect”
On their initial tour, the resident that is right next door
is one of her good friends.
They actually grew up in the same small town and
have remained friends over the decades.

This cozy conversation area is right outside their rooms.
I can’t think of anything much better than that!

The bathroom features a walk-in shower.
The kitchenette passed inspection, and is just the right size,
as she no longer does any meal preparation.

This large family room is just inside the front entrance.
I have already met several lovely ladies there.

The dining room is also welcoming.
The residents gather for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
3 o’clock is Social Time with coffee and sweet treats.

And Thursdays, that 3 o’clock gathering is a Happy Hour!
Did I say this place is perfect!

Once they are in their assigned seats, residents can choose from a menu.
…plus guests can make arrangements to eat there with her for just $5

Moving Day started early.
MIL has made this her home for 55 years.
The emotional part was not lost on me.

I, too, have shed tears every time we’ve moved.
There’s something sentimental about a house where
you have brought your babies home from the hospital and
watched those children grow up.

The move was Swift and Efficient.

Three young men wrapped her furniture and loaded the truck
to bring her most precious possessions to her new home.

Hubby and his sister worked diligently to organize her things.

Here she is, feeling right at home in her favorite recliner.
Naturally, there will be a period of adjustment.
However, she is  ready for visitors, starting with a granddaughter
and the great grandsons…coming soon.

Take care,
~Natalie

P.S. if anyone would like her mailing address,
 just leave a comment
