30 years of commitment During staff development time today, recognition was given to the teachers and support staff that have been with our school district for 25, 30 and 35 years. Cookies, coffee and stories were served. (Do you see me there on the 30 year list?) These co-workers have been my friends since the 70's. Together we've been through weddings, birth of our children, graduate degrees, family crisis, budget cuts, death of parents, building a new high school, graduation of our children, etc. etc. Now, young, new teachers are filling in the spaces left, as we all look to our retirement in the next few years.

Another high-light was the package that came from Sharon at the Old Oak Swing. I was the lucky winner of her January give away. It is still winter in SD so the cozy throw and devotional book is just what I need for my weekentd 'retreat'. Visit her blog to see what she is giving away for February!
Blog Award
Blog Award
Last week, one of my blog friends, Debra at Needles, Fabric and Thread, has honored me with this award. Again, making my day! I do enjoy checking in with so many of you on a daily basis. Since in January, I had a difficult time narrowing a list to pass this on to, I am happy for another opportunity to share this award. Today, I want to share this with
Child Development Guests... Here's another pic of Steph and her little nephew in my Child Development Class. It looks as if he is getting ready to say something to us. Anyway, his mommy, Samantha, left such a sweet comment on my Tuesday's post...these are the very reasons why we teach for thirty years...

Oh my goodness that baby is adorable!!!
So the teachers dread the parent teacher conferences too...thankfully I don't deal with that any more...just on the phone to make sure I don't need help with the school at home.
What a lovely surprise to see those chocolates on your desk....wonder who left them??
THANK YOU so much for the award,,,you are very sweet!!!
Have a great weekend!
I know all about those PTA nights. We just had one also ACK!
30 years wow! I have been doing it 10 but not all at same school.
Only 20 more to go LOL
Thanks for the award.
Thanks so much for the award, Natalie! You're a sweetie!
Kris :)
Oh thanks for the award....I am trying really hard to learn new things...got out a small scrap of monks cloth and tried to do a row of rug hooking, a little trouble..but will keep pluggin on...thanks for the award...makes my day
congrats on 30 yrs....thats awesome...there needs to be more recognition for teachers...I know I could not do it...takes a special person to be a teacher or to work in education.
I thought our parent/teacher conferences were bad, but our school gets out at 2:15 and conferences start at 2:30 and end at 6:00. If I had to be at school till 9, they would find me napping on my desk.
30n YEARS!!! Congrats!
I m on 24....and have 9 years to retire....the sad thing is that I have only been in my current district for 12 years and they do not honor my past years of credit...so I got my 10 year apple a few years ago..and when I opened the wrap the apple fell off the trophy so I glued on Mr. Potato Head!
Happy 3 Day Weekend!
The heart cookies look yummy! That is so nice that you are such good friends with your co-workers. I really miss that. Hope you had a great valentine's day with hubby!
Oh forgot to answer your question awhile back. I work at Clark Jeary assisted living. It's on the very south side of Lincoln, kind of behind the new super Target. So it's not too far, just a 20 minute drive. :)
Congrats on 30 years!!!
Hmmmm, a mystery valentine. ;)
Congrats on your 30 years. It's dedicated teachers like yourself that changes lives and sets a course for a great future. You deserve a big (((((HUG))))))
Ah, that was a very sweet comment Samantha left on your blog. She's a sweet sounding girl, with a sweet looking baby. :-)
A huge box of chocolates, wow; somebody thinks highly of you! ;-)
You don't look old enough to have your name on the 30 year list, Natalie!
