The Grand Finale

Basic Foods class~today was the last full day of school. Professional Chef Kelly Miller, has two girls in my classes and they suggested he come to prepare our final meal. First we cut chicken breast and placed it in his delicious marinade.

He amazed the students when he carved a cabbage flower, a honeydew melon swan and a watermelon whale.

Students placed chicken and grapes on skewers and with his daughters as his assistants, he grilled them to perfection.

But...best of all...a father and daughter memory was made at Central High School.

What a fun day for everyone that must have been. Our children don't always get those special school days with Dad's, so that was a great moment for the Chef and his daughters. They'll talk about that in the family for a long time to come!

HI! I followed you over from Thrifty Decor Chick - "destashing" made me chuckle. I'm a stopped-college-in-the-middle-to-pay-for-hubby's-school-since-he'd-be-provider-now-SAHM, who will eventually go back to school and will hopefully be able to commute to the college that does Family and Consumer Science Education degrees. I look forward to reading more and getting a glimpse into a career that seems like a lot of fun - from this side!
