Doesn't spotting the first robin always gives you hope that spring is just around the corner? A local weatherman who has been on the air for years always says that robins are around this area, Baltimore, MD, all year long. But I'll be darn if I ever see them in the winter...maybe they just hang out at his house.
I saw a robin during our snow storm on Saturday. He looked like he was freezing his tail feathers off. Haven't seen him since. Hope he didn't change his mind about sticking around.
