I grew up in a very small town.
But, once a week, my mom and I would drive into Devils Lake.
For doctors appointments.
For dentist appointments.
For hair appointments.
For piano lessons.
For shopping.
Sometimes, we would get a bite to eat.
We would share a sandwich and share a piece of pie.
Now...most of you know I go to the grocery store early.
I purchase supplies for our Basic Foods labs.
Then, I usually go to the store deli and buy the 'sandwich of the day' to have for my lunch.
Today...
Yes...
This was what Mom and I always ordered.
An Egg Salad Sandwich and a slice of Lemon Meringue Pie...
...Our favorite.
I had to buy it.
I had to eat it...in fact, I had one half for breakfast...
...the other half for my lunch.
What's your comfort food?
Take care,
~Natalie

There's so many to choose from but I would probably have to say homemade chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes and hot rolls.
Oh, honey. All food spells "comfort" to me. Wish it wasn't so...
Oh my.. Granny hit it right on the head! homemade chicken and noodles which can only be eaten with mash potatos and rolls.. My aunt Winnie would make them for me everytime we came to visit.. (Meeshall Honey, you come on ovah to the stove and help youra Aint Winnie with this, wee'l get dinner on for the men.) Always Dinner.. never "Lunch" as us Oregonians would say... oh she did not like me asking what was for "lunch"! I miss her..
Natalie,
I gotta go with homemade mac and cheese or a grilled cheese sandwich with a pickle.

Eggs over medium with toast and coffee. Pecan pie with coffee. So many meals are tied to my mother or grandmother!
