While most folks travel to warmer places for their winter vacation,
This was the closest we came to 'tropical' on our trip.
Our mid-winter vacation took us to Minneapolis and Rochester, Minnesota...
where according to the Misery Index, this is the worst winter in 30 years.
This is our view of the Minneapolis skyline from the 9th floor of the Doubletree Hotel.
Look closely at the parking lot. The snowbanks are higher that the cars.
Minnesota was our chosen vacation destination for good reason.
Amy and Nick are moving from his assignment in Okinawa
to Lakenheath Air Force Base in England.
And a visit with family is a good stopping place in-between.
While the temperatures outside are below zero,
we have been enjoying the warmth and hospitality of Nick's family.
Here, we had just finished a tour of IBM,
where Steve has worked as an engineer for over 30 years.
Frigid temperatures and snow flurries
haven't stopped us all from going
out and about to gather with family & friends.
(More highlights to come)
Take care,
~Natalie
