The Ark Encounter ~Spring Break Road Trip ~On Our Way Home

We added an extra day into our trip itinerary so
we could spend a day in Williamstown, Kentucky,
at the Ark Encounter.

With tickets in hand, we boarded a bus for a short ride to the Ark.

This was the view as we got off the bus, it was most impressive.
The accommodations make the visit convenient and comfortable for all ages.
Ramps for strollers and wheelchairs,
attendants, plenty of restrooms,
and Snack Bars along the way.

One needs to allow 3-4 hours for the self guided tour.
There are three floors of displays and exhibits.
There are multiple areas to watch videos telling
the story of Noah and The Ark.

The structure is 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high,
built according to dimensions in the Bible.

“In the Beginning” is where it all starts.

Looking up inside the Ark.

The exhibits tell the story of the time and events
between The Garden of Eden…

…to Noah’s building of the Ark.

Noah was a skilled Blacksmith,

and an expert carpenter.
Life-size figures show what his workshop probably looked like.

Many, many cages lined the walkways in the Ark
where the animals were housed.

The models looked realistic.

Critters of all sizes.

Imagine how they were all fed. That’s a lot of chores for 8 adults.
There was also a detailed explanation of how their waste was disposed.

I was fascinated by their depiction of how food was prepared,

and how the provisions were stored.

Here are their living quarters, for rest and some relaxation.

The entire Ark Encounter Experience was inspiring.

We concluded our visit with a visit to the Zoo.

After four hours we were back in our vehicle to continue our trip home.
One could purchase additional tickets to spend another day
to see the Creation Museum, to go on the zip line,
to ride the camels, and to pet the farm animals.

Take care,
~Natalie

Great review, Natalie. Next year I suggest the Creation Museum outside of Cinnicinati. It is wonderful.
