Family Time in Okinawa ~When Nana is Jack’s Nanny

Breakfast is Jack’s biggest meal of the day...
Cheesy Scrambled Eggs are a favorite.

“Hmmm...I see Mama is in her work clothes,
so that must mean that Nana is staying home with me?”

That’s right...
Jack’s daddy was working away from home.
Jack’s nanny was packing & preparing to move.
Jack’s mama was on the schedule to work at the clinic.
So, Nana came for a visit and to be the support crew.

After the breakfast dishes were cleared away,
Nana took Jack and his mouse in the Radio Flyer
to the nearby playground.

We had fun playing in the “spaceship”.

Then it was time to head home to have some lunch.

Nana wasn’t quite sure what Jack would like for lunch,
so she gave him a little bit of everything!

After nap, we sent Mama a selfie
to show her how we were doing.
Day One was a success.

Jack was always good to play independently after breakfast,
while Nana put away dishes and folded some laundry.

This morning, it looked like
it could rain at a moment’s notice...

So we stayed close to home.

We took the Radio Flyer out
for a brisk walk around the neighborhood.

The Macaroni & Cheese and Watermelon was a hit for lunch.

It feels so good to have a nap after lunch.

All refreshed and ready to play some more!
Day Two was another success.

The next morning we did more of the same.
Played toys, read books, took a selfie,

And took Radio Flyer to the playground.

Jack was so relaxed on the way home he fell asleep.

After lunch and nap time,
Jack helped Nana make meatballs.

For dinner we made a Toddler-friendly, One Skillet Meal...
Meatballs with Rice and Peas.
You can find the recipe on my Pinterest Page.

Another Day, another success.

Some mornings we all just feel like going back to bed for a bit.

After a slow start to the day,
we got our energy back.
Jack and Nana made Cheesy Potatoes for lunch.

Turkey and Watermelon create a nice balanced lunch.

After nap, Sophie and her mom came over to say Hi.
This was another great day!

We don’t watch much TV, however,
Sometimes you just need to check in to see
what Big Bird and the Sesame Street gang is up to.
Especially when the grownups are gettig a meal on the table!

A walk in the Radio Flyer with Mouse often saves the day.

This day, we had to backtrack twice
to look for Mouse on the sidewalk.
No worries, Mr. Mouse made it home safely.

Jack and Nana had a great time together.

And some good news...
Jack’s daddy was coming home a few days earlier than expected!
We are blessed.

Take care,
~Natalie
