The Sanford Heart Hospital ~Good News to Share ~Update on Great Grandma

Some of you remember this photo that I posted the end of January.
Hubby’s mother had appointments at the Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls.
The Cardiologist found 95% blockage in two of her arteries.

Hubby and his Sister returned with her, twice in February.
Dr. Stys was able to place two stents and her
tests determined that she was eligible for the TAVR.
TAVR is a procedure that implants a new valve inside the diseased valve,
without removing the one that is damaged.
It is considered minimally invasive,
as Dr. Stys can accomplish this by going in through the groin.

The procedure took place on Thursday.
She was discharged on Friday.
This was Saturday, her first morning home.

And here she is, just three months short of her 95th Birthday.
She’s looking pretty healthy and happy after
waking up in her own bed.

If anyone wants to send her a card,
leave a comment and I’ll send you a message with her address.

Take care,
~Natalie
