Where the Week Went ~Hubby’s Birthday Report ~Orthopedic Doctor Visit

We have had beautiful summer weather and we enjoy 

sitting out on the patio when hubby comes home from work.

Last weekend, we celebrated Hubby’s birthday

with our Friday Night Friends Group.

And we celebrated again the next night with family.

We had a delicious dinner and

we all took home a box for lunch the next day!

Probably, because we were saving room

for their complimentary Birthday Dessert.

This week our Facebook Newsfeed was filled 

with Back to School photos.

This is my Retired Teacher Photo that day...

at Physical Therapy.

However, if you missed our daughter’s Instagram Post,

this is our Grandson heading to Preschool.

My heart is melting!

What’cha Workin’ on Wednesday?

I was in the mood to bring out my sewing machine...

Hubby was at League Golf,

so I had the whole day and evening to work on a project.

I saved the biggest news for last...

I had another four week Orthopedic checkup up this morning.

I can kiss this “bad boy” good bye!

I have been wearing this huge walking boot for nine weeks.

It feels good to put it away in the back of my closet.

I have graduated to a smaller, shorter ankle brace.

Partial credit goes to my at-home Physical Therapy Assistant

who provides support while I do my stretches and exercises.

Someone Special Sunday ~Thank Goodness for FaceTime

These grandparents love every little opportunity 

that we get to FaceTime with this happy boy.

He is learning new songs at his preschool, 

complete with the actions.

This photo was in my Facebook Memories yesterday, 

a reminder of the time we spent together last summer.

And now, just a year later, he looks like a “big boy”!

I was fortunate to spend the month of May 

with Jack and his Mama. 

It was like a month-long play date!

For now, we love the play dates

we have on FaceTime...

and we enjoy chatting with his Mama, too!

We are blessed.

Christmas Eve ~ Creating Some New Traditions & Keeping our Favorites Alive

Can it be? Christmas Eve is here??

I'm not going to lie...to me, it just doesn't feel like Christmas...

Nellie did a great job hanging the ornaments...

but, I don't think she's a fan of our artificial tree!

(In Denmark, they don't have "plastic" trees!!)

This year, we will be missing our darling daughters.

Both are living far away...and both are busy with new career jobs...

I count our blessings, that we have been able to share so many holidays together.

Our family has lived close...North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota...

and we have been able to gather for lots of occasions!

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Independence Day, Birthdays,

Columbus Day, Presidents Day and Spring Break...it seems we were always on the road...

...and I have such fond memories!

Thank goodness for Face Time...

We were able to be with Amy, as she opened her gifts.

And today, we hope to Face Time with Emily and Jake...

Perhaps a new tradition for our family?!

We will also be missing my mom, since can no longer travel.

Scott and I celebrated Christmas with her at the Odd Fellows Home...another new tradition.

We like the tradition of lighting the Danish Christmas Candle...

and tonight, we just might have to figure out how to

"Dance Around the Christmas Tree" with the Danish.

(which by the way, is coming to an end in just 10 days)

and finally...What happened to the weekend?

We didn't take any before pictures...

but, this was our shop.

There are two refrigerators to the left,

plus I have one of those pattern file cabinets like the fabric store...

Anyway, everything from the shop went out to the patio, 

so we could clean into the corners.

This is now storage, 

and part of the garage is now the shop...

But all of this organization is just making me happy!
