Ed, Farrah, and Michael

For those of us that are 50 something, it has been a week of remembering and celebrating the lives of three big names in our entertainment world. When I was growing up, there was just one TV channel on the farm and only one late night show. My Daddy seldom missed the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Many nights I lay in bed listening to the familiar voice say "And Heeere's Johnny!"

And how many of us tried to duplicate that famous hairstyle of one of the famous Charlie's Angels?

Michael Jackson...The King of Pop... Watching the tribute to his music this morning brought back so many memories of his early days singing with his brothers in The Jackson Five, and all his hits during the 80's. He was a gifted musician and performer and I hope that is the way in which he is remembered.

A nice tribute Natalie. I also hope MJ is remembered for his superb talent. I did love Ed too...and was always envious of Farrah's great hair and knock out body. I think she was a great person also deep inside.

They were some big "hitters" for us for sure. I have others to add to the list in my own personal life as well. I grew up in CA and going back enjoy reading the paper and sounds morbid but do look at obituaries. During the two week period those that passed 1)my old boss' brother, a highschool coach, mom's friend from highschool and the doctor who delivered me. Two days after returning home I learned the Father of our church back home had a massive heart attack and died Tuesday. Apparently God needs some more angels...

Just such a sad news week wasn't it. I was so shocked over the death of Michael Jackson, but I have a feeling it could be another case of too many prescribed drugs. So sad.

Hey Natalie . Nice to see your post of our lost talent . Did you watch the documentation with Farah going through her bout with cancer ? So sad .
Memories , kinda like the puppy dog taisl and snails . I remember when the kids were that young .
To anyone with small ones , they grow up in a blink of the eye . Cherish and make time for them .
Hugs
Deb

I know, what a sad week it has been. The more that comes out about Michael and how frail and sick he was, it gets sadder.

I was truly saddened by the loss of Ed McMahon. He was one of the true gentlemen of the entertainment industry and The tonight Show would not have been the same without his input each night. Farrah was such a sweet and softspoken person. Her "niceness" simply shined.

I have awarded you the Honest Scrap Award. Please seemy blog for details.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I see you are an empty-nesters too! Your daughters are beautiful girls! Your mother reminds me of my mom and how she was before she passed away. Very active!

Have a Happy Fourth and we all are very blessed by our freedom, aren't we?
