Out with the Old, In with the New ~Here's How We Celebrated the Holiday

This is not the first time that we stayed in
to celebrate New Years Eve.
Our newest holiday tradition is to treat ourselves to lobster.
Hubby has perfected his process...
he pours a half a bottle of a stout beer
in with the water in the bottom of our steamer.
The Lobster Tails are delicious.

I prepared the Hasselback Potatoes and a salad.

We did, however, celebrate with friends the evening before.
I thought you might enjoy seeing some of their lovely Christmas decorations.

This handmade wreath was created by our hostess.
What a great way to use those wine bottle corks
that you all have been saving!

And then on their tree, Wendy has a
delightful collection of birds.

This one is so much fun!

We enjoyed great conversation...

good pizza from Roma Ristorante Italiano.

and a little glass of bubbly to end the evening.

Whether you were out and about,
or relaxing at home,
I hope you had a great start to
2017

Take care,
~Natalie

What'cha Workin' on Wednesday ~How this Teacher Spends her Summer ~~Cleaning our House, Room by Room ~~~The Living Room

With two cats and hundreds of dust bunnies,
I look forward to the summer when I can clean each room in our house...
side to side and top to bottom.

Brushed, Dusted, and Vacuumed...
time to put it all back together.

Where's Callie?

I had it finished in time to host a summer PEO meeting.

I do have a new portrait to hang over our piano...
just waiting for hubby to have some time!

Would you like to see a little more?

Yes...I do have a thing for Teddy Bears.

And yes, I do have an obsession for vintage dress forms.

I love, love, love, vintage books.

The coffee table centerpiece needed a little love.
I added the tall vases in between the hydrangeas.
This one with a decorative ball mix!

This one with balls of twine.

And this one with wine bottle corks.

We all hoped you enjoyed this little tour.

Take care,
~Natalie

Easter 2015 ~Here's my Report

We had a last minute change of plans for Easter this year.
Hubby's mother had wanted to host our holiday meal,
however she recently had eye surgery and couldn't do all of the necessary preparations.

So, it was decided on Saturday, that Easter dinner will be here.

We went to the early worship service...
I want you to see now pretty our sanctuary was with all of the spring flowers.

When we got home, we went right to work...
The ham went into the oven at 275 degrees. I wanted to start it slow,
as we'd be turning up the oven later for the vegetables.

Hubby cleaned and the prepared the ingredients for our asparagus dish.

Grandma made our favorite Holiday Carrot Dish

It's good to always have some cheese and crackers on hand
for spur of the moment entertaining.

Just the four of us this year.
Hubby's mom and sister,
Hubby and I.

Super simple meal of Roast Ham,
Baked Potatoes, Hubby's Asparagus,
Grandma's Carrots and a Green Salad.

Stacy made dessert, a delightful Lemon Angelfood Cake.
Perhaps she will share her recipe with us.

It was a relaxing day with family.
We enjoyed good food and our time together.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.

Take care,
~Natalie
