Top of the Morning, Central Volleyball News & Tuesday's Tip of the Day

We are having the most beautiful weather...our Indian Summer. Once again, I enjoyed this beautiful sunrise during my morning commute.

The Central Volleyball team won our conference and the district play-offs and is now on their way to the State Tournament. Just days ago, I reported that our football team is going to state...what a great year for our athletes!
Congratulations, Golden Eagles!!

Tuesday's Tip of the Day
Our newspaper is delivered in this little plastic sleeve...every...single...day. This is much appreciated. It keeps all the newspaper inserts together and it keeps the newspaper dry when it is raining or snowing.
But what does one do with all those empty plastic sleeves??
My drawer is overflowing...

Well, for one...my thermos fits perfectly inside. Just once, my thermos leaked in my school bag...just a little, and some papers got wet... While they weren't important papers, it would be very unprofessional to return student papers with coffee stains.
Anyway, I'm sure I'm not the only person who receives a nifty plastic sleeve every day.
I'd love to hear what you do with yours~

Volleyball State AA Championships

Our volleyball girls are at the State Tournament this weekend. They lost only 2 games all year...No, I'm not there...I copied the pics from the State HS Activities Association site. Here the girls must be listening to the starting line up for the opposing team, which would explain the serious looks on their faces! I have had all but 3 of them in class. They are all darling girls. See the player that is the 4th from the right? She is pretty
special to us. Her dad and my DH have been friends since college and we continue to be good family friends. In fact, we are honored to be her Godparents.
She is a Junior and she starts on varsity.
Looks like she (#18) got in a good block yesterday...

Well, they won yesterday, in 4 games...they play again tonight. Wish we could be there...but we'll be, again, watching the webcam and cheering from home. Good luck, girls...and #18...we're so proud of you!!

Fall is for Friends and more Football ~ It Looks Like I’ve got some Catching Up To Do

It has been a Busy Month for these retired empty nesters. Imagine if we were working and away from home for nine hours a day?! And what’s be...
