Folks across the countryside will be cooking eggs today, in preparation for
the Family Easter Egg Dying Tradition.
Here are some reminders...
Do not use the eggs that are fresh from the supermarket.
Use the eggs that have been in your refrigerator for about a week...
They will be much easier to peel.
Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan.
Cover with cold water...about 1 inch over the eggs.
Bring the water to a boil.
Then turn off the heat and put the lid on the pan.
Set your timer for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, pour off the hot water,
add cold water...even ice cubes...
to stop the cooking process, and avoid overcooking your eggs.
(Here, I'm just letting them dry before putting them back in their cartons)
And remember...
You are never too old to dye Easter Eggs!
Take care,
~Natalie

Natalie,
They come out perfect every time don't they!!! Have a wonderful Easter! OLM
You're right...you are never too old to color eggs...but you are too crazy to color eggs with 22 kindergartners and no help!
Happy Easter my friend :)
Never knew about not using freshly purchased eggs...this year we got them right from the chickens. No wonder the shells were sticky. Hope you had a wonderful Easter Sunday.
