This is our greeting when we return home after an evening out.
Not sure they are friends,
but they are tolerating each other.
You might remember that Jasmine
came to live with us last spring.
Several friends have asked how they are getting along...
Lucy says, "Yes, she is still here."
If this photo had sound effects,
you would hear Jasmine growling.
Many of their negotiations have taken place
on or near the stairway.
Just another stare-down.
Sometimes Lucy appears to be the intimidator...
Then sometimes, Jasmine has the power.
But Lucy used her smooth,
slow motion moves,
and got past her.
Jasmine on her favorite perch in the kitchen...
wondering if Lucy knows she's there.
Yeah, Lucy knows.
And then, there's the watering hole...
Problem solved...put out two water dishes.
Don't you wish you knew what they were saying?
There is hope.
Take care,
~Natalie

Oh my goodness! They're both so lovely....why is it that cat's aren't always so friendly with each other? I guess that's what makes them cats and not dogs. LOL. As long as there is not any bloodshed. ;)
Oh, Natalie, I loved this post because we are going through the EXACT same thing right now - except I'd never dare leave mine out in the house together if we went out. We lost our Midgie earlier this year and we adopted 10 year old Mr. Buffy. Well, he and Baby are not all that thrilled with each other. I keep hoping for a breakthrough but nothing yet. At first Mr. B ignored Baby. But after a few days or her hissing and/or growling after his arrival, he finally started getting annoyed by it and going after her. Since he was a rescued street cat, I think he views growling/hissing as a threat and therefore responds as such. So at night time Mr. B sleeps in t he office, which he actually likes, and during the day he can wander the house at will because I'm always around to break up any potential fights at the OK Corral!
