Monday Mania ~More Wedding Talk ~~Dance Like No One is Watching

After dinner, it was time to get the party started!

Hubby and I listened to several Father/Daughter dance songs,
and we both agreed that
Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight" would be perfect.

"Yes, You're Lovely"...
(You really need to listen to the lyrics in my link below.)

Midway through the song,
the groom brought his mother to the dance floor.
A pretty special moment...

Then it was time for everyone
to celebrate with the newlyweds.

Good girlfriends are a must...

No matter what your age!

Then, there was the bride's garter.

All of the single men played a round of musical chairs
to see who would win the garter.

It came down to the groom's best friend from Boston
and the groom's 12 year old nephew.

Yep...you guessed it.
The young nephew has the garter!

It was a fun mix of family and friends.

Take care,
~Natalie

Wedding Week ~Introducing the Attendants ~~and the Couple's First Dance #hubertpartyof2

After the ceremony the bridal party hopped into this limo,
as the photographer wanted to get more photos of the group.

The guests were enjoying a little cocktail hour
with the Bride's and Groom's Signature Beverages
and some Appetizers.

Let's get this dress into a bustle!

The guests were seated.
Introductions started with Meaghan and Brad.
Each couple chose their theme song and choreographed their entrance.

Next, Jessica and Matt.

Then, our Amy and Rob.
They were all so creative and I can't wait
to see the professional photographer's photos!

And then, the Bride and Groom...

With their introduction,
they danced their first dance as a married couple.

Intoducing Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hubert.

Take care,
~Natalie

Thursday ~ Things that Make Me Smile

Today is my last day of summer vacation.
Tomorrow we all go to Teacher Inservice.
Where is the summer go?
Well, I can tell you...the summer highlights were all about
1. our daughters graduating;
2. our daughters obtaining career jobs; and
3. and our daughters finding a new home.
You all saw Amy's place when I visited her a few weeks ago.
Last weekend, we had the privilege of staying with Emily in her new place.
The living room is large, and Emily has a great style for decorating.
It is an open area with the kitchen to the side...

Emily likes to cook and has organized a very efficient kitchen area...

Here is her bedroom and big closet...
Before...

After...

and here's that big closet!

Her apartment bathroom is also large with great storage...
floor to ceiling cabinets...

A garage was included...
when you live in the Dakotas, this is a huge deciding factor!
Emily, we are so happy for you.
You have a great home,
in a great community.

Take care,
~Natalie

TGIF or OMGIF ~ Where the Week Went

It's funny...when you're a teacher...
from August through May, you say
"TGIF, it's finally Friday..."
But in June and July, you say,
"OMG, it's not Friday already, is it?"

So...where does the time go?
A beautiful evening calls for an impromptu gathering with friends.
What do you think we were all looking at?

Our college graduates are at the "in-between stage" of their lives.
Job hunting, interviewing, making decisions, packing, moving,
studying, preparing for the big tests, making more decisions...
This one lives at home, for now,
so I am enjoying her company.

We visited the Animal Clinic...
...this kitty needs a good home.
Her name is Ivy.
(email me if you'd like to adopt her)
We attended the dance recital...as a former graduate of the studio, Emily was honored to serve as an usher...
And Miss Vicki? She looks the same as the day I met her 22 years ago, when Amy started to dance.

And together, we have been cooking some pretty tasty dishes.
For a printer friendly copy of the recipe, click here.

How are you spending your summer?
I hope you all are having a fabulous time.

Take care,
~Natalie

It’s National Pumpkin Day ~A Versatile Fruit… Or is a Vegetable??

It’s a fruit, as it is a product of the seed-bearing structure of flowering plants. Or like I’d say to my 9th grade Basic Foods Class, “It’s...
