The Okinawa Zoo ~Family Time ~Mama’s Takin’ Us To The Zoo

“We’re going to the zoo, zoo, zoo.
How about you, you, you?
You can come too, too, too.
We’re going to the zoo, zoo zoo!”

(I hope you all have that song in your head now)

It was a fairly quick drive from base.
And the entrance was clearly marked.

Plenty of easy access parking, too.

The entrance had the most beautiful flowers and shrubs
along the walkways...almost like the Botanical Gardens.

The first creatures we encountered were the bats...

...and then, the birds.

Our favorite display was this big cat.

Jack giggled when we stopped here.

Our least favorite display was this little dog in a cage...
all..by..himself.

Why is he here?
Is he looking for his furever family?
Can we get a leash and take him for a walk??
He just looked so sad.

We came upon a map,
so we could see that there were
many more animals ahead.

We stopped in a shady spot for a snack,
before finishing the route.

“See the elephant with the long trunk swingin’
Great big ears and a long trunk swingin’
Snuffin’ up peanuts with a long trunk swingin’
We can stay all day.”

“See all the monkeys they’re scritch-scritch scratchin’
Jumpin’ around and scritch-scritch scratchin’
Hangin’ by the long-tail (huff huff huff)
We can stay all day!”

Our last rest stop, the pond.

It was still pretty breezy.

But the breeze felt nice since the sun was so warm.
It was a great afternoon to be at the zoo.

“Well we have stayed all day and I’m gettin’ sleepy
Sittin’ in the car gettin’ sleep sleep sleepy
Home already gettin’ sleep sleep sleepy
‘Cause we have stayed all day.”

Thank you for a fun afternoon at the zoo.
We are blessed.

Take care,
~Natalie
