Road Trip to Visit Family and Friends ~How We Got There ~Days Two & Three ~The Rest of the Story ~Party in Nashville~As Told by Catboy

We three got up and on the road early the next morning.
Papa set our destination in Garmin.
Gigi and Catboy looked at our route
the old fashioned way.

Gigi packed a bag of tasty car snacks for our trip.

Lots of rivers along the way…
The Missouri, the Mississippi,
and the Ohio, to name just a few.

Some bridges are pretty spectacular.

Time for Lunch.
Pookies in Marion, Illinois,
was highly recommended by Emily & Jake.

A perfect place to stop for a break,
as we were half way to our evening destination.

Plus there are games!
Bocce Ball and Corn Hole…we found enough
quarters for Papa to play Skee-Ball.

Google Maps helped us drive right up to
the front door of our Hotel in Nashville.
Look closely, you can see Papa way over there, checking us in.

This area, a Bar in the evening,
will serve Complimentary Breakfast in the morning.

The room looks comfy, too.

Then we walked down Broadway,
looking for the Night Life.
We walked..and walked..and walked..
finally we saw the Lights.

We landed at Ole Red…
You know, Blake Sheldon’s Place.
Chris Moreno and his Band were on Stage.

It was loud, in a good way!

Downstairs was for dancing.
Upstairs was for eating.

Papa and Gigi were ready to retire for the evening,
just in time for the young crowd to move in.

When in Nashville, one finishes the evening with
an order of Nashville Hot Chicken.

Hattie B’s is the place to go.

It was a spicy end to our travel day.

Again, we woke up to warm sunshine,
for the final leg of our journey.

Our last lunch on the road was perhaps our best.
Mike’s Hole in the Wall, did not live down to that name.

We sat inside in the AC, however there’s great outdoor seating.
If you’re ever in Chattanooga, Tennessee,
put Mike’s in your Google Maps. You won’t be disappointed.

We know we’re getting close to Georgia when
we see this in the Convenience Store.
I’m still hoping to taste them.

After 21 hours in the vehicle, we finally drove up to their house.
We shared family hugs,
great conversation,
and a delicious dinner.

Next up…
Meeting our New Granddaughter.

Take care,
~Natalie
