Grandparents Day is celebrated the first Sunday after Labor Day.
It was not an official holiday until President Jimmy Carter
signed the Proclamation in 1978.
As I child I frequently spent time with my Grandparents.
Every Sunday was Grandparents Day.
That’s me sitting with my Grandpa Gustav,
along side my Grandmas Rhuda and Hilda.
Eight years ago, this little package arrived from our
Daughter and Son-in-Law, announcing that they were expecting a baby,
Our First Grandchild.
I met the little guy when he was four weeks old.
This Gigi was fortunate to be retired and could travel to
Okinawa to stay with them for a few weeks.
Have you seen this meme?
It always makes me Chuckle ðŸ¤
That’s exactly how my Grandmas dressed…
House dress and Apron.
My mother or aunts would wash and set their hair,
With pin curls all over their head.
Papa met Jack for the first time when he was 3 months old.
Apparently, Jack had a lot of stories to tell his Papa.
And here they are, just a month ago.
“A Grandchild fills a space in your heart that
you never knew was empty.”
This Papa and Gigi are Blessed with Four.
Our Hearts are Full.
Take care,
~Natalie
