What’cha Workin’ on Wednesday ~On the Work Bench ~Morning Outing with My BFF

This rustic wooden heart has been
one of the best sellers in our
Tins and Treasures Shop.

The last one in our inventory sold this weekend,
so it was time to make some more.
Valentines Day is just around the corner.

Hubby cuts them and sands them till smooth.
I’m up next, I paint them and edge them.

Hubby applies the stain to make them look aged.
Once dry, I will add the wire hanger and homespun tie.
It’s teamwork at its finest!

Local Friends,
Message me if you want one.
(We can bypass the whole Etsy process)

I have a standing date every Wednesday.
Lorie and I have been going out for coffee
once a week for 40 years.

Now that we are both retired,
we can go in the morning.

We get our coffee and cup holders at Starbucks,
and then we follow our usual route around Target.
Sometimes we have a list...
Sometimes we just check out all the Clearance Endcaps.

But we always walk away from the store
with everything we need.

Take care,
~Natalie

A Ninetieth Birthday Celebration ~Here’s My Report

My Mother-in-Law had a milestone birthday on Friday.
When one turns 90,
they deserve to celebrate all weekend long.
We all enjoyed a dinner out with family.

She has always appreciated a bouquet of flowers for her table,
so this was our gift to her.
They graced our table at the restaurant and
again the next day at her coffee party.

She insisted that she did not want to have a big party
for her big birthday, so we planned a
small intimate gathering with cupcakes and coffee
for her closest friends and neighbors.

It was perfect for a weekend afternoon.

The Birthday Girl and her guests enjoyed
the sweet treats and good conversation.

Thank you to everyone that has
also sent Greeting Cards with personal notes.

This next photo showed up in my Facebook Memories...
taken the day of her 80th Birthday Reception.

My Oh My, we all look young here!
Cherish the time you spend with your family.
Such sweet memories.

Take care,
~Natalie

Happy May Day ~What’cha Workin’ on Wednesday

Happy May Day, Everyone.

Have I mentioned that
we have the best neighbors?
When hubby left for work this morning,
this was on our front porch.
This cute little bucket was filled with sweet treats!

Here’s the latest on my Easter Basket of flowering bulbs.
The daffodils are still looking strong,
and now the tulips have opened.

Wednesday is a highlight of my week.
My best friend and I have a standing date...
We meet here and enjoy Starbucks Coffee and Shopping.
Today it was chilly and rainy.

Still better that a couple of weeks ago!

Lorie and I have been going out for coffee
once a week for forty years!
Pretty sure that when people see us they say,
“There’s our old Home Economics teachers.”

This weekend, Hubby and I found a great selection of herbs.
Hopefully, it warms up a bit so they can move outside.

As usual, I have a lot going on...
Stay tuned for details.

Take care,
~Natalie

Was Santa Good to You? My Family and Friends, They Spoil Me

I really do love the glow of the lights
on the Christmas Tree.
Our cats often sleep there,
in the warmth under the tree.

The other night, I was up in the night,
and caught Lucy talking to Santa.

Maybe she was trying to convince Santa
that she was not naughty, but nice?!

I will so enjoy my gifts,
chosen just for me,
with my likes and interests in mind.

From hubby, an upgrade to my Fitbit.
It was 15 months ago when I
made a commitment to a healthier lifestyle,
that includes regular exercise.

He also knows that my favorite candle scent is coffee...

These are not easy to find, but they do have them at the
Karisma/Lost & Found Occasionals Boutique downtown.
Check out the coffee beans in the candle wax.

From our daughter and family in Okinawa,
we received these treats to share with the whole family.

And this very special Santa for my collection.

They also sent their family photos,
all framed and ready for display.
Their photographer does a beautiful job.

From our daughter and hubby in Boston,
I received these much needed socks.
Notice the label?
“How cute are these?”

Also in their package, a new soup ladle.
At one time, I had two, but have not seen them since I retired.
I must have left them at school.

From our friends, Rebecca and Robert,
we received these elegant canapé plates.

There were six plates in the set,
so I guess we need to have a party!

My sister-in-law knows I like comfy,
warm slippers for around the house.
These are lined with fur!

From my mother-in-law,
a year’s subscription to Rachel Ray’s Magazine.
And as always, a care package of Avon products.

I think I have found a special spot
for my new Santa to sit...
Right beside Baby Jack!

From my friend, Debra,
I received gifts to pamper myself in the new year.

Along with such a cute calendar.
I love cats...I love vintage!

My family know I appreciate a good cup of coffee,
and my new coffee maker has a built in grinder.

Santa brought these necessities.

I guess Lucy’s chat with Santa paid off...

She is one content kitty.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Take care,
~Natalie

What’cha Workin’ on Wednesday ~Weekly Target Run ~Soaking up the Sunshine ~Sewing Studio Project ~And a Tasty Quinoa Salad

True statement on my Newsfeed this week.

Lorie and I meet at Starbucks/Target nearly every Wednesday.
There are cup holders to attach to your cart
for hands free shopping.
Ask for one when you order your coffee!

Since when did Halloween get to be such a big deal?
There are four aisles of orange and black.

It was a beautiful sunny day.
Back at home,
Lucy was quick to claim this spot in the foyer...

And she intended to hang out there for awhile!

My best find at Target today, on the clearance rack,
Kitty Pajamas...perfect for this Old Cat Lady.

On my sewing table, Santa Suits.

I made an awesome salad for dinner.
(Thanks for the tomatoes, Charlotte)

I prepared the Black Beans, Corn, and Vegetables
while the Quinoa was cooking.

The recipe is on my Pinterest Page.
Check out my Vegetarian Board.
It is good and good for you!

We hope you had a Wonderful Wednesday.

Take care,
~Natalie

Where the Week Went ~Yes, That is The Sanford Heart Hospital

It has been ten days since Hubby had a heart attack. We have much gratitude for the EMTs, his Primary Care Physician, his Cardiologist, and ...
