Spring Break 2017 ~Here's my Report ~My Last School Haircut ~Guinness Beef Sliders Recipe Link ~~Pinterest to Practice

Hopes of spending early morning hours relaxing on the couch
were dashed by Lucy, who is used to having her breakfast at 5:30 a.m.

Spring Break allows time for extra errands
and for some extra pampering.
Remember how well we were treated at
Hair Addictions at the time of the wedding?

Jennifer has always been our "go-to girl" for hair...
Prom, Back to School, Special Occasions.
And on this occasion, my last school haircut.

I often posed an interesting challenge.
She was able to create a the latest style
for this High School Fashion Teacher...
yet professional enough to meet with parents at conferences.

These Guinness Beef Sliders caught my Pinterest eye,
so were on our menu for St. Patricks eve.

Hubby broiled the asparagus with garlic and parmesan.

Speaking of Pinterest,
it can make correcting papers a little less tedious.

For St. Patricks Day, Hubby and I went all out
and put green food coloring in our beer.
We wanted to stay home to watch our Girls and Boys Basketball Teams
at the State AA Tournament. We enjoyed a quiet night at home.

Of course, St. Patty's Day weekend wouldn't be complete
without Hubby's Corned Beef Hash.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Take care,
~Natalie

Visions of Sugar Plums Danced Through My Head ~More Christmas Preparations ~~Another Pinterest to Practice

Our living room has a small, but cozy, conversation area.
The coffee table needed something special for its focal point.

I fell in love with this idea on pinterest, and
I knew this sweet, edible centerpiece was a must!

So, here is my creation.
There's a little salty, but mostly sweet.

My favorite, the gummy candies...
such a temptation!

I hope there's something for everyone in here?!

The Mason Jars were in my mother's farmhouse kitchen.
The jar on the left is filled with this easy

The pedestal candy dish is most special.
It belonged to my Grandma Hilda.
My mother treasured this piece...she kept it in her china hutch.
It is well over 100 years old.

Too pretty to use?

I think not.

Take care,
~Natalie

Putting Pinterest into Practice ~Our Christmas Preparations

Once it was official that the girls and their guys were coming home,
my mind started spinning with ideas!
Pinterest is a great site to put pictures with the images that you have in your head.

I created a new Pinterest board titled "Tis the Season"
and I invited Amy and Emily to post ideas too.
It has been fun to see what the girls have added...
if you'd like a peek, click here.

For years, I have used a garland and centerpiece like this.
But it needed to be moved every time we ate at the table...

And we can't have that type of inconvenience,
so this year we are creating a centerpiece that can stay in place.

I had everything here in my possession...wooden tray,

garland, mason jars with candles,

and glass Christmas bulbs.

While we were in Fargo this weekend,
I found the perfect piece to finish the project...
An embroidered Christmas table runner.

It's a match made in heaven!

It looks good at night with the candles lit...
or by day with natural sunlight.

This was so easy to put together with
supplies that I had here at home.

Enjoy the Season.
Take care,
~Natalie
