Happy Birthday, Dear Emily

We are sending birthday wishes
to this special young woman today.

We have sweet memories of our holiday time together...
starting the moment you all got here.

You have so many talents.

You are organized and efficient.
You are kind and caring,
such a people person.

You are driven with an intrinsic motivation.
Your work ethic is over the top strong.

You are frugal and quite sensible...

but, you can also show a bit of a fun, sassy side!

You are very family oriented...
and we are blessed that you are a part of ours.

I can't wait to see where this next chapter in your life takes you.

Happy Birthday, Emily.

Take care,
~Natalie

What'cha Workin On Wednesday ~Time Change and Term Change...

This has been a challenging week.
I think most can agree that it is more difficult to "spring ahead" than it is to "fall back".

While we only lost one hour on Sunday,
most days this week I felt like I was a half a day behind!

Add to that, the changing of the term. This is the time for teachers to on the top of their game...
correcting tests, papers and projects from 3rd term,
and intruducing new classes, students, books, and curriculum materials for 4th term.

Honestly, some mornings I just wanted to go back to bed
and snuggle with the cat...

Take care,
~Natalie

What'cha Workin' on Wednesday ~and What's Been Happening Here...

In the last week of the school term,
my foods class has their most challenging labs...
the "combination foods".

One of my favorites is Potato Soup.

Daughter Amy and I have Spring Fever and
are looking at wreaths on Pinterest.

Should we buy a wreath for the front door?

Or is another trip to Hobby Lobby
for DIY supplies in order?

Hubby worked on a DIY Project of his own.

He and his hunting buddy had made sausage.
These needed to bake for most of the day.

And now they are sealed and in the freezer.

In the classroom, President of Wells Fargo visited with my Juniors and Seniors about developing a relationship with your bank and how to build your credit score.

Also...protect yourselves.
Identity theft is a problem that everyone will face at some time during their life.

And these Employment Specialists from the Department of Labor spoke about how to be more employable...

and then once you get a job, how do you keep your job?

side note: there was a problem with the heating system in my room.
way too hot to feel productive.
Some students loved it,
some just felt sleepy.
The vent has been fixed and the climate has returned to normal.

With all the end of term food preparation at school,
Hubby treated me to a pizza delivery.

My preference is roasted red pepper and spinach...

And his...pepperoni and mushroom.

Jake, this photo is for you!

Enjoy the rest of your week, everyone.

Take care,
~Natalie

The Black and White Ball...Here's My Report

Last evening we attended the Presentation College Black and White Ball.
The theme for the event was "Shades of Green"
(OK, I know what a lot of you are thinking)

We arrived at 6 pm and the lobby was already buzzing with folks checking their coats...checking in at the head table...and checking out the Hors D'Oeuvres!

We were invited by good friends, Dawn and Mike,
to sit at the table sponsored by NorthWestern Energy.

Thank you so much!

Are you noticing the stunning decor in the ballroom?

Do you see Hubby, Dawn and Mike across the way?
They found our table!

Next stop...the professional photo booth

...and remember I mentioned Hors D' Oeuvres.
Also by now Patty and Dennis have joined our group.

The food was fabulous...
The petite fillet was tender and grilled to perfection.
Steamed asparagus with garlic mashed accompanied the entree.

After dessert, this former student came to greet me with a hug.
She had just the sweetest things to say to me...
it made what was already a good night even better!

She had the Kozy Kittos booth across the way from me at Winterfest.

And then, an after-dinner drink and dancing...

Soon it was time to gather our things and go home.
Thanks again for a a great evening!

Take care,
~Natalie
