Friday’s Fabulous Finds ~Fashion, Food, Flowers, and Fun #COVID-19 #StayHome #FlattentheCurve #StoptheSpread

So many of us are spending all day, every day at home...
working, schooling, cooking, cleaning, and perhaps creating.
Find something to wear that is casual and comfortable,
but still makes you feel good, like a cheerful yellow.

With Spring in the air, our favorite stores are posting
fresh fashions on Facebook, Instagram,
and in frequent emails.

So many times, I already own
some of these pieces in my wardrobe.
I appreciate the photos that show
new options for putting them together.

The caption (where can’t this go?) made me chuckle.
Right now, most of us are not going anywhere,
except out for essential errands...

And for those of you faced with challenge of
finding nutritious foods for your children...
breakfast, morning snack,
lunch, afternoon snack,
dinner, and bedtime snack.

Aren’t these just the cutest?!
Older children can even create their own.

Here’s another fabulous food find.
One of our local establishments, Dempsey’s,
posted their Pizza of the Week.
It is available as a Take & Bake, so Hubby promptly called in an order
and picked it up in the late afternoon.
It was the perfect Friday Night Dinner plan.

Back to my Fashion Finds...
Spruce up your Spring Coat with a Scarf
when you go out for your daily walk.

A scarf also provides a way
for you to cover your nose and mouth
if you are without
the recommended fabric face mask.

I remember when I was a little girl.
Easter was one of the few occasions when I got a new dress.
This is what my Grandma was wearing
when we got to her house for Easter Dinner.

This generation of Nana Gigis has a very different style.

For the next several weeks it is important
for all of us to stay safe in our homes.
Enjoy the hobbies you love,
like cooking, baking, gardening, and creating.
Let’s flatten the curve and stop the spread together.

Take care,
~Natalie

What’cha Workin’ on Wednesday ~Introducing my Wraptor

On Friday I told you all that I kicked my
walking boot to the back of my closet...
and in its place I wear this ankle device called
the Wraptor.

From a distance, most folks will think I am
breaking all the rules of fashion
and wearing black socks in the summer.

Also, I know you are thinking I made up that name,
Wraptor.
Nope, right there on the package....
Wraptor.

Very clever, indeed.
Pretty sure I could have sewn my own Wraptor
with the elastic, Velcro, and laces that
I have in my sewing studio, for about one-tenth the cost.

Wraptor has allowed me to enjoy my routine again.
Every Wednesday, my best friend and I meet at
 Starbucks/Target for coffee and shopping.

Our Target route takes us past all the clearance end-caps.
If you’re wondering what was in those Target bags,
besides cleaning supplies and paper products...
Here are my best bargains today.
Did you notice my pink T-shirt in the first photo?
I found another one in this color, more suitable for autumn.

If you like a Soy Candle for your kitchen,
check out the Clearance price on this one.

Remember last Wednesday I brought out my sewing machine.
So today, after finishing my house chores, I organized this project.

And after finishing her nap, Lizzie spent her time
watching for my hubby to come home from league golf.

I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday.
Take care,
~Natalie

Spring Break 2017 ~Here's my Report ~My Last School Haircut ~Guinness Beef Sliders Recipe Link ~~Pinterest to Practice

Hopes of spending early morning hours relaxing on the couch
were dashed by Lucy, who is used to having her breakfast at 5:30 a.m.

Spring Break allows time for extra errands
and for some extra pampering.
Remember how well we were treated at
Hair Addictions at the time of the wedding?

Jennifer has always been our "go-to girl" for hair...
Prom, Back to School, Special Occasions.
And on this occasion, my last school haircut.

I often posed an interesting challenge.
She was able to create a the latest style
for this High School Fashion Teacher...
yet professional enough to meet with parents at conferences.

These Guinness Beef Sliders caught my Pinterest eye,
so were on our menu for St. Patricks eve.

Hubby broiled the asparagus with garlic and parmesan.

Speaking of Pinterest,
it can make correcting papers a little less tedious.

For St. Patricks Day, Hubby and I went all out
and put green food coloring in our beer.
We wanted to stay home to watch our Girls and Boys Basketball Teams
at the State AA Tournament. We enjoyed a quiet night at home.

Of course, St. Patty's Day weekend wouldn't be complete
without Hubby's Corned Beef Hash.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Take care,
~Natalie

Dream Vacation ~The Full Story ~~Day Four: Mother/Daughter Lunch and Shopping

Henry's was perfect for lunch.
We shared an appetizer, Toasted Baguette with hummus,
a sandwich, Mozzarella, Cucumber, and Tomato,
and an avacado salad.

Did I mention that it was a chilly, rainy day?

People were wearing winter coats, scarves, sweaters and boots.
It was a good idea to take our London experience inside.

Let's go shopping!
(My tour guide checked the underground map)

After a short ride, we were back up on the street.

Piccadilly Circus is a busy intersection in the heart of London.

There is our shopping destination...
you can see the Harrods famous green awnings above the windows.

While it was chilly outside,
the window displays are warm and inviting.

We loved the Harrods Designer Studio.
Such beautiful fashions, such beautiful displays.

Even the escaltors are surrounded by elaborate decor.

I purchased a few souvenirs in the Harrods Gift Shop.

This was a perfect way to end our perfect day in London.
Thank you, Amy.

Take care,
~Natalie

CTE Fashion ~How to Keep Your Students Engaged, Even When It Feels Like Summer

Naturally, you host a Red Carpet Event...
and your students design the dresses!

It was the last week of school.
Students took notes to review for the End of Course Exam.

With the class time remaining,
my Fashion students applied what they had learned about
the Elements and Principles of Design.

I provided the Aluminum Foil and
Colored Plastic Wrap.

Students created the designs and styled their hair.

There was so much talent and creativity in this class.
I think we all enjoyed this activity.

Take care,
~Natalie
