Welcome Summer ~An Evening at the Lake ~~Tuesday's Tip: Take the Shuttle

We have had some beautiful evenings here...
and it is just the beginning, as tomorrow is
The First Day of Summer!

After a week of work, it was time to get out of the city,
and enjoy an evening at the lake.
provides a shuttle bus for those who want
to make the trip out there as a group.

There are seats for a dozen people to ride comfortably.
They arrived promptly and
we left our vehicles in a convenient location.
There is no fee to ride the bus,
however it is proper to tip the driver.

Here's what happens when your hubby gets ahold
of your selfie stick.

Seriously, we have the best group of Friday Night Friends.
We are all Empty Nesters, whose children live far away.
Spending time with these folks
is a great way to start a weekend.

The driver also works out at the resort,
so within short notice,
he fires up the bus to shuttle us back to town.

It's a bumpy ride...
an adventure, for sure!

It was a beautiful evening,
with beautiful friends.

Take care,
~Natalie

Wedding Week ~The Photo Backdrop ~~Take a Selfie #hubertpartyof2

Our family and our guests had much fun
with our photo backdrop.

Thank you Pinterest for this great idea.

We collaborated with our good friends.
Their Emily was getting married the 8th,
our Emily was getting married the 15th.

Maybe no one noticed that both of our families used the structure?

Sooo cute...love you, Claire, Zach, and Chloe.

After their wedding, we brought it home,
added another coat of chalkboard paint,

and tested the lights.

Remember, our groom was the Artist in Residence.

Matron of Honor with her sweet hubby.

Here's Mom and Dad with their first born.

Family Friends...

College roommate...

College Friends...

Then, we finally caught up to our groom.

A precious photo with our daughters.

If any of you took photos with our photo booth,
please share them with the bride and groom.

Thank you to all who spent this
special evening with our family.

Take care,
~Natalie

Wedding Week ~Where the Week Went ~~So Much of It was a Blur #HubertPartyof2

Daughters and Son-in-Laws arrived a week ago...
Today, eveyone goes home.
Where did the week go?

We had some finishing touches to make on our DIY projects.
I cut the Lace Table Runners,
Jake designed the Photo Backdrop,

and Emily assembled the Party Animal placecard holders.

These three got in some time out at the golf course.

Dress Fittings...

...and Practice Hair Sessions.
So much to do, so little time!

Hubby and I hosted three dinner parties in three days.
Family and Guests were coming into town from
Massachusetts, the UK, New Hampshire,
Georgia, Connecticut, Illinois,
New Jersey, Virginia, Florida, Colorado,
Nebraska, Minnesota, and North Dakota.

We spent time grocery shopping,
preparing food,
and cleaning up the kitchen.
We received great help from Nick,

Amy, and the Bride and Groom.
We opened our home to our hometown friends
to greet and meet the out-of-town guests before the big day.

I so wish I had asked someone to take photos for me.
Since I was busy in the kitchen,
I have very few photos to show for the week.

I did dry my hands to capture this photo op
of The Guests of Honor.

Here's celebrating the Bride and Groom.

More Photos to come...
Take care,
~Natalie

I Won A GoPro Camera ~Thank you Pam of Sidewalk Shoes ~~And it's a Special Sunday, Indeed

I am your lucky give-away winner of the GoPro Camera
and the ProPlan Cat Food Coupons.

My camera arrrived almost a week ago,..

I needed to wait to get an SD card,
and then, I was able to take some photos.

Maybe this will be the spark our sedentary cats need
to get up  and get moving?

(We once had daughters living at home, that were swimmers, dancers, and runners.
Years ago, we would have had some exciting videos to share.)

Lately...well...
these empty nesters have had a pretty dull life.
But I do have something special to share...

This is our church.
My hubby was baptized and confirmed here.
So GoPro helped me capture the interior of the church.

Our congregation is taking on a major renovation project.

So this is the last look at the old Zion Lutheran Church...

Stayed tuned to watch the progress on this project...

Take care,
~Natalie

It’s National Pumpkin Day ~A Versatile Fruit… Or is a Vegetable??

It’s a fruit, as it is a product of the seed-bearing structure of flowering plants. Or like I’d say to my 9th grade Basic Foods Class, “It’s...
