Precious Cargo Reunion Tour ~Last Stop ~Fernson Brewing Company Tap House

After their Hall of Fame Concert performance,
the guys were exhausted. They left it all on the stage.

Somehow, on Sunday, they had enough adrenaline left
to perform at Fernson on 8th.

Since the drummer has the most equipment,
hubby and I are usually the first ones there to set up.
However, it wasn't long before the guitar and bass players showed up.

Some of the band members had early flights,
but the musicians that were still around put on an awesome show.

More Cowbell...

I had so much fun re-connecting with the girlfriends...
plus, I met some of their children and grandchildren.

Here's everyone from the Fernson gig.
Thanks for the memories.

Take care,
~Natalie

p.s. I'm hoping we can all make a trip
to Jamie's Ranch next summer!

Hall of Fame Induction Eve ~A Jam Session

The evening was for the Hall of Fame Inductees and their spouses.
First, a light meal was provided by the SD Rock & Roll
Music Association and their sponsors.
Thank you, all.

And then the honored bands were introduced.
These four musicians are the original founders of Precious Cargo.
Dan, Scott, Roger, and Mark.
Congratulations!

Over the years, 21 musicians played with Precious Cargo.
15 of those were able to return to South Dakota for this event...
It was an awesome reunion.

After the social, the doors were open to the public.
Family, Friends, and Rock and Roll Fans joined us.

Precious Cargo took their turn on the big stage.

As the night went on, musicians from various groups
combined their talents to entertain the fans.

Here's Scott and Chet from Precious Cargo
performing with a member of the SDRRMA Board.

It was a great night of good music and fellowship.

The accomodations were perfect.
Our rooms were near this exit,
with the concert venue just across the parking lot.

Thank you again, John Mogen
and the Rock and Roll Music Association
for organizing this event.

Take care,
~Natalie

Merry Christmas to All ~The Highlight of our December ~~Congratulations to Nicholas

Christmas Greetings to all our Family & Friends.
We were honored to spend time celebrating with these two
on Nick's tremendous accomplishment.

Nick spent the last six months in Weapons School,
A very rigorous program including academics and flying.
And now it was time for awards and recognition.

There were over 1300 in attendance at this formal event,
however, our attention was on these two.

It was a formal dinner, indeed.

Here's Nick with his classmates...

Amy with the other wives...

and, here they are, all reunited.

We were seated with Nick's father, aunt and uncle,
siblings and their spouses.
Such a delightful group to share dinner and table conversation.

Amy and Nick with his Commander and wife.

And then, it was time for graduation.
There's Nick, the 5th from the right, under the speaker.

Congratulations, Nick.
We are so very proud of you.

The perfect ending to a wonderful celebration.

Treasure the time you spend with your family.
Merry Christmas, everyone.

Take care,
~Natalie

What'cha Workin' on Wednesday...and a Melt-in-your-Mouth Recipe

It is Homecoming Week...
and I am proud to say, the Homecoming King is in my Advocate Group.
(that's a high school term for home room)
Meet Matthew...
He is nice to everyone...he greets everyone by name...
and always has a positive attitude.

(and...did you notice that I took this opportunity to bring out my cupcake tree?!)
Here's the whole group...
I cannot believe they are seniors!
I have 'mothered' them for four years.
(Pretty sure I'll cry on their last day of school!)

Some of you know I am referred to as the 'Queen Mother' at school
one in 2002 and one in 2006.
(This has never happened before...
Sisters, both selected to represent their class as the Homecoming Queen.)

This photo is pretty special, as we three were together on Mothers Day...
first time since 2003.

Homecoming Week doesn't mean we can be slackers in class.
This week is the start of our Yeast Bread unit in Basic Foods.
Are these just not the most perfectly shaped crescent rolls you've ever seen??
And these? Golden brown in color...
Melt in your mouth texture...
I've posted the recipe before, but here it is again.
A printer friendly option on our

I hope you take the opportunity to try these.
Kneading and shaping the dough is so therapeutic...
and they really do melt in your mouth!

Take care,
~Natalie

Sandra Bullock...how can you not just LOVE her?

Did you see her last night?  She looked exquisite...her gown...her hair...her smile...
When she arrived on the red carpet...
Carson Kressley says Sandra hit it out of the park on the evening when all eyes were on her. The embroidery on her golden gown covered up any potential trouble spots, and the showstopper was understated but elegant. "It's like a liquid," he says.
And have you seen her acceptance speech?  She spoke to each of the other four women that had been nominated for best actress...so classy.  When she started thanking the moms and specifically her mom...well, enough said...
How many of her films have you seen?

Well, Sandra...I hope there are many more to come!
