End of First Term ~Best Teacher Memes ~Final Projects ~~Turkey Dinner

Yup...could totally relate to most of them.

This is perhaps my favorite.

With the End of the Term, comes our big projects.
The turkeys went into the oven at 6:15 a.m.

No extra credit necessary here.
My Teacher Intern, Miss Hailey, went above and beyond
to assist with my Intro to Foods Class.

You all remember our guest turkey carvers?
Since our Assistant Principal retired last spring,
we have a different guest carver... my new supervisor.

This is one of the highlights in my Foods Class!

Sweet girls...

Great group discussions...

I will miss these students,
as we start with all new classes with new rosters tomorrow.

Best wishes for a marvelous Monday.
Take care,
~Natalie

TGIF ~Where the Week Went ~~Some Highs, Some Lows, Much Stress...

It has been a beautiful autumn, weather-wise.
Since it is dark when I leave home,
I get to enjoy the spectacular daily sunrise.

The events of this week provided more stress than I care to handle.
An unexpected event caused major havoc with my end-of-the-term lesson planning.

Then, an emotional class discussion lead to the need for mandatory reporting.

And then, a medical emergency with one of my students.
My family will vouch for the fact that I am the world's worse nurse.

I appreciate the immediate response from our assistant principals,
school nurse, school resource officer and house parent.

The student is fine and was back in class the next day.

Once a week, I see my Senior Super Study.
Over a bowl of soup, we discuss the week's happenings,
future plans, and life lessons.
This week it was Cheesy Broccoli.

Oh, have I mentioned that I am taking a graduate class?
Yes, teachers need 6 credits every 5 years to renew their certificates.
We had a paper due today.

Yay for Friday...
I am looking forward to cheering for
my favorite college football team tomorrow.

Happy Weekend.
Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate.

Take care,
~Natalie

TGIF ~Finally Friday ~~Where the Week Went ~~Fruit Pizza Recipe Link

We are having beautiful weather this fall.
So warm, that the forecast predicts
possible record breaking temps this weekend.
When we were growing up,
we called this our "Indian Summer"

It was a perfect week for the
fruits and vegetable unit in my Foods Class.

Fresh Fuit...so refreshing.

...so colorful

...so creative

...so delicious!

The crust has whole grain rolled oats and nuts for a healthy twist.
I also purchase the lower fat Neufchatel Cheese.

Let me know if you make one this weekend!

Take care,
~Natalie

More Wedding Talk ~~The Gift Opening ~~And Hubby's Birthday Takes a Backseat

After enjoying lunch with our daughters and their hubbys,
we moved the "party" home.

My first priority was to find vases to get the flowers in water.

The decorators took their containers home
and left the flowers in bundles.
They were so beautiful, I couldn't just let them wilt.

So while everyone else napped,
I was saving flowers!
And it was so worth it!!
Callie and I enjoyed those flowers for two weeks.

Who doesn't love fresh flowers?!
The colors were just beautiful.

The cards were in this mailbox.
Thank you, everyone, who gave a giftcard!

The Newlyweds just wanted a small group for the gift opening...
parents and siblings.

An intimate setting was just right.
They were able to take the time to read each message
from their wedding guests.

This Sunday was also Hubby's Birthday...
his 55th, in fact.
However,
he insisted that we did not make a big deal about this.
But, who can resist a funny card?

The Newlyweds served their cake.
Wedding Cake/Birthday Cake.
It was delicious.

Take care,
~Natalie

Friday Fun ~Central High School Homecoming ~~Love My Seniors

Our fabulous band was up before dawn.
It is tradition to play the School Song
outside our Principal's house around 6 a.m.
And then on to the high school to perform for
students and teachers arriving for the school day.
(notice, the sunrise was spectacular)

Classes went on as normal...as normal as possible, anyway.
The energy level was high, and the schedule was shortened.
Here is my Foods class enjoying homemade rice krispie treats,
and the movie "Remember the Titans"

And a Time Management Project in my
Personal Development class.

Then, it was time to gather in Super Study Groups.
Everyone is showing school spirit!

It is tradition for the senior girls to wear the
football team's traveling jerseys.

And I guess it's tradition for the guys in my group to take this shot.

Here they are a couple of years ago.

Then we gathered for the Pep Assembly.

Football players

Cheerleaders

and the Drumline.
There's something for everyone!

Since I am a "Senior" too, the girls
allowed me in their group photo.

I hope you are all enjoying your hometown's
fall homecoming festivities.

Take care,
~Natalie
